So, I heard this superhero family is going to be in a movie coming out in 2026, and honestly, it makes total sense why Kevin Feige and the team picked this big crossover event for their first appearance in the MCU. It’s a huge deal! But it got me thinking, there are so many other Avengers villains they could have gone with – characters that aren’t as famous yet and are just waiting for their chance to shine on the big screen. It feels like a bit of a missed opportunity to introduce someone new, you know?

The name “Power Man” has been used by several characters in Marvel Comics, but it’s most famously known as the hero Luke Cage. Before Luke Cage, however, another character held the title, and he didn’t exactly set a good example for the name.

These powers require him to be fully charged with ionic energy to work correctly. Bushwacker Is A Hard Villain To Stop

The most compelling comic book villains often present the greatest obstacles for heroes to overcome. This is certainly true for the Avengers when facing someone like Carl Burbank, also known as Bushwacker.

Once a priest, then a CIA agent, and eventually a being with cybernetic enhancements, this character is primarily known as a frequent enemy of Daredevil. He’s also proven to be a formidable opponent for The Punisher, thanks to his ability to rapidly heal, a trait that puts him on par with characters like Wolverine and Deadpool. There were plans for him to appear on screen, but that didn’t happen. Hopefully, he’ll get his chance in a movie or TV show soon, as he’d be a compelling addition to any project.

Typhon Is A Ruthless Titan

The Avengers have included some characters with divine powers, like Thor and Hercules, which proved very useful when fighting powerful, otherworldly enemies. One particularly notable example of such a being in Marvel comics is Typhon.

This incredibly strong Titan angered Zeus and the Olympian gods so much that he nearly brought down Mount Olympus when he was exiled. He repeatedly tried to get revenge on them, but the Avengers—with assistance from Hercules—always stopped him. Speaking of which, the Marvel Cinematic Universe should introduce Typhon, and Thor: Love and Thunder would be the ideal place to do it.

Super-Adaptoid Is A Challenging Obstacle

Man, some villains are just nightmares for certain heroes. It’s like when their powers or gear are way too similar – it makes the fight almost impossible. Take Super-Adaptoid, for example. He’s a real problem for the Avengers because he can basically copy anyone’s abilities and equipment, making him a perfect counter to almost any hero. Seriously, he’s a tough one!

Super-Adaptoid is a massive and formidable android with a unique ability: it can copy the weapons used against it, as demonstrated in battles against the Avengers. What truly sets this villain apart, though, is its inability to grasp human emotions and motivations. This weakness has proven to be its downfall in the comics, and it could make for a compelling storyline in a movie or TV show.

Monolith Is One Of The Avengers’ Most Gargantuan Adversaries

When people imagine threats that would challenge the Avengers, they usually picture villains who are incredibly powerful and imposing in size – truly massive, physically speaking. One of the biggest enemies the team has ever faced is a being called Monolith.

A powerful, ancient alien was trapped on Earth by a curse cast by sorcerers, leaving him helpless for millennia. When the Avengers tried to stop him, they failed, as he easily defeated both Thor and Vision. Ultimately, Beast had to repair the magical item that held him captive, and Thor had to launch him into the deepest reaches of space to finally end the threat – a sequence of events that would have been spectacular to see in a movie.

Grim Reaper Is Truly Deadly

The most compelling comic book villains aren’t simply malicious; they have a personal reason for opposing the hero(es), and often that reason is something readers can relate to or understand. A good example is the villain known as Grim Reaper.

Eric Williams is the brother of Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man. When Wonder Man died saving the Avengers, Eric blamed them for his death and vowed revenge. Demetrius Grosse plays Eric, alongside Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and this role is expected to set him on the path to becoming the villain Grim Reaper and ultimately leading the Lethal Legion.

Black Swan Is Perfect For The Multiverse Saga

Doctor Doom was chosen to replace Jonathan Majors as the MCU’s big villain for the Multiverse Saga largely because he’s skilled at traveling between dimensions. However, the story could have been even stronger with a few more characters who share that ability.

Yabbat Ummon Tarru, also known as Black Swan, has incredible powers. She mainly uses them to stop universes from colliding and being destroyed – she eliminates entire universes before a collision can happen. However, despite being so powerful, she’s now mostly remembered as just one of Thanos’s elite soldiers, the Black Order.

Graviton Is Extremely Powerful

Only a handful of Avengers can fly, like Iron Man with his suit’s rockets, Thor using his hammer, and Vision, who simply has the power of flight. But just flying isn’t enough – truly mastering gravity is what makes an Avenger incredibly powerful.

Franklin Hall, also known as Graviton because he can control gravity, is a powerful enemy of the Avengers. While he hasn’t appeared in live-action films or TV shows himself, his abilities inspired several characters on the show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Korvac Is Big Bad Material

If you’re thinking about who could be the MCU’s next big villain after Thanos, Korvac is a strong contender. Like the Super-Adaptoid, he’s a cybernetic character capable of challenging any of the Avengers, but he’s arguably even more dangerous.

Once a technician who worked between dimensions, Korvac received extensive technological upgrades to his upper body. These enhancements let him instantly learn and perfectly use the powers of almost any super-being in the universe, simply by activating a control. But what truly made Korvac a memorable, though often overlooked, comic book villain was when he gained the Power Cosmic, essentially becoming a god. Wouldn’t that be an amazing Avengers film?
