The team behind the game Phasmophobia, Kinetic Games, is starting a new publishing company called Kinetic Publishing. They plan to support and promote creative new indie games.
Kinetic Publishing will work with a select group of game developers who have a strong, well-defined idea for their project and are nearing completion – typically within 12 to 18 months of launch. They’ll offer dedicated support and personalized assistance to these teams, focusing on games from various genres.
The new program will provide Kinetic Games CEO Daniel Knight – who initially developed the game on his own – with the resources he wished he’d had when Phasmophobia first became available in Early Access back in 2020. This includes financial backing, legal assistance, marketing help, and general guidance for improvement.
Daniel Knight, CEO of Kinetic Games and director of Phasmophobia, recently shared his enthusiasm for the current indie game development scene. In a press release, he explained that the past five years have been a huge learning experience, and that Kinetic Games’ growth now allows them to support other indie studios in the way he wished he’d been supported when he was starting out.
Asim Tanvir, marketing and partnerships director at Kinetic Publishing, explained that the company aims to be a leading supporter of independent game developers. They hope to help these teams thrive and foster new ideas by providing guidance and resources, ultimately allowing them to focus on creating great games.
