Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen has begun airing as part of the Winter 2026 anime lineup, and it’s already one of the most highly anticipated shows of the year. The season premiered this past week, and along with the premiere, it was announced that the first part of the season will be relatively short.
I’m so excited! Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Part 1 is starting to roll out episodes over the next few months, and they’ve just announced the schedule! But here’s the thing – the final episode of this part, episode 12 of Season 3, is set to air in Japan on March 26th. That means this initial run will only be one cour this winter. Don’t worry though, it just means we’ll get more of the Culling Game arc later on! It’s already time to start thinking about how it’s all going to end!
What’s Going on With Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3?
The first part of the Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game arc will have 12 episodes and air during the Winter 2026 anime season. This will be a relatively short season for the series. While another set of episodes is expected to cover the rest of the Culling Game arc, the exact release date is currently unknown. New episodes could arrive later this year, in 2027, or even beyond, depending on the production schedule.
New episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Part 1 are now available weekly on Crunchyroll for viewers in North and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia. Currently, the episodes are only in Japanese with English subtitles. An English dub is planned for the Winter 2026 anime season, though a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet.
What Is the Culling Game?

Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen has begun adapting the Culling Game arc from Gege Akutami’s manga, marking a significant step towards the anime’s conclusion. This arc is the next phase of the villain Kenjaku’s plan after the Shibuya Incident. Having awakened cursed energy in people across Japan, Kenjaku is now initiating a deadly tournament, and Yuji and his friends will encounter many new characters – both allies and enemies – as they compete.
The first two episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 were so popular they actually caused Crunchyroll to temporarily crash as fans rushed to watch. Given the show’s massive popularity, it’s not surprising, and now fans know when the season will conclude.
