The Steam Machine is potentially the most highly anticipated bit of kit in gaming right now.
Gamers are incredibly excited about the potential of the Steam Machine, with many hoping it will finally deliver the long-awaited Half-Life 3, even thinking about future consoles like the PlayStation 6 and the next Xbox.
Since Valve hasn’t officially announced the price of its new hardware, and a possible price has recently been leaked, here’s a breakdown of what you should know about how much it might cost.
Has the Steam Machine price leaked? Latest rumours explained
As of today, Valve hasn’t officially announced how much the Steam Machine will cost, but a retailer may have revealed the price by mistake.
Smarty, a Czech store and official seller of Valve products in Europe, is showing both the 512GB and 2TB Steam Machines on its website, but the prices haven’t been announced yet.
Clawsomegamer found that the website’s code revealed the prices for both models: 19,826 CZK and 22,305 CZK.
The 512GB version costs around £708, $953, or €816, while the 2TB version is approximately £796, $1072, or €918.
What does all this mean for you? If you’re concerned about the cost, don’t dismiss the idea of getting a Steam Machine just yet.

Ugh, it looks like I can’t see whatever’s behind this reCAPTCHA right now. The site says I need to sign out of Contentpass first to get it to load. Hopefully that fixes it!
Clawsomegamer points out that Smarty is a seller who isn’t directly part of the main company, and they typically add about 17% to the price of the products they offer.
They also point out that Smarty doesn’t have official prices from Valve yet; these are just internal estimates and not the final, confirmed prices.
Okay, so this is all just guessing for now, but I’ve been thinking about how much the Steam Machine might cost. My own guess was a little lower, but honestly, seeing prices going up – especially for RAM lately – it’s totally believable that it could end up costing this much. It wouldn’t surprise me at all!
Right now, this is the most information we have. So, while we should be cautious about believing it, we shouldn’t completely dismiss it either.
