5 Deadliest Assassins in All of Assassin’s Creed

The Assassin’s Creed games focus on assassinations, so all the characters are skilled killers. To find out who’s the deadliest, we counted how many targets they eliminated in both the main stories and side missions. The characters with the highest kill counts are ranked below as the deadliest assassins in the entire Assassin’s Creed series. This list covers the 14 main games, and future installments might change the rankings, but here are the top five, ordered from fewest to most targets.

5) Edward Kenway

Edward Kenway started out as a farmer before joining the Royal Navy as a privateer, and eventually becoming a pirate. He was a particularly ruthless captain during the Golden Age of Piracy, responsible for at least 26 confirmed deaths. His life was a difficult and violent one, ending when he was killed by hired soldiers at his home on December 3, 1735, as detailed in the novel Assassin’s Creed: Forsaken. The game Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, which tells his story, was a major success, selling over 11 million copies within its first year.

4) Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad

Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad is a prominent character in the Assassin’s Creed series, first appearing in the original game and later playing a key role in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations as well as the spin-off games Altaïr’s Chronicles and Bloodlines. He’s also featured in the novel Assassin’s Creed: The Secret Crusade and remains a fan favorite. Over the course of his career, Altaïr eliminated 31 targets, making him one of the most lethal assassins in the franchise. Trained as an assassin from birth, he was skilled at taking down any opponent. He lived a long life, passing away on August 12, 1257, at the age of 92.

3) Arno Victor Dorian

Arno Dorian is the main character in Assassin’s Creed: Unity, a game set during the violent French Revolution. Given all the executions and killings happening at the time, Arno was a natural fit for that world. He was raised in a family of assassins but became an orphan early in life. He eventually followed his father’s path, becoming an assassin himself and eliminating 33 targets. Though he was once exiled, he rejoined the brotherhood and even became friends with Napoleon Bonaparte. While his exact age at death is unknown, he appeared to be around 54 years old in the game.

2) Bayek of Siwa

Bayek of Siwa is the main character in Assassin’s Creed: Origins, which takes place near the end of ancient Egypt’s Ptolemaic Kingdom, before it fell to the Roman Empire. This was a turbulent period in Egyptian history. Bayek was one of the last of the Medjay – a highly skilled police force that protected the Pharaoh and the country’s interests. As both a Medjay and an assassin, Bayek eliminated 38 enemies, making him a formidable character despite only appearing in one main Assassin’s Creed game.

1) Ezio Auditore da Firenze

The Assassin’s Creed series initially followed Ezio Auditore da Firenze, who became a central character across several games, comics, and books. Born into a noble family in Florence, Italy, in 1459, Ezio discovered his family’s connection to the Assassin Order as a young man. He joined their ranks and became a prolific killer, eliminating 68 targets throughout his adventures. Ezio continued assassinating for decades, eventually passing away on November 30, 1524, at the age of 65.
