Intel was at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, mainly to introduce its new Core Ultra Series 3 mobile processors, known as “Panther Lake.” These processors will power upcoming laptops, including the updated ASUS ZenBook S14 and S16. However, Intel didn’t focus much on PC gaming at the event.
While Intel did briefly acknowledge AMD with a playful jab at their handheld gaming chips, desktop PC gamers didn’t receive any major new announcements. However, it seems new hardware *was* planned – firmware for a rumored Intel Arc Battlemage B770 graphics card was discovered within driver software for an HP laptop (according to VideoCardz).
Evidence surfaced on the Reddit forum r/TechHardware, showing a GPU driver—identified as BMG-G31—listed with drivers for Intel’s Arc B570 and B580 Battlemage GPUs, which were released last year. Unfortunately, that’s all the information available. When Digital Foundry asked Intel’s Tom Petersen about it, he couldn’t provide any details, stating, “I cannot comment on unreleased products or unannounced products, but it’s an excellent question, and I know a lot of people are curious.”
TechHardware Exclusive: Intel Battlemage G31 “B770” Firmware Shows Up In Intel Driver Package! from r/TechHardware
I’ve been a strong supporter of Intel Arc graphics cards for a while now, because they offer good performance at a reasonable price. They’ve gotten much better since the initial Alchemist series, such as the Arc A770. I was hoping to see the B770 model unveiled at CES 2026 in Nevada, but unfortunately, it didn’t appear.
Even if it’s just a small sign, there’s a chance we’ll get official news about the Battlemage B770 graphics card before Intel releases its next generation, Celestial – assuming they even plan to make separate graphics cards for that series. I’m still hoping for a new, reasonably priced Arc graphics card for desktops, particularly because rumors suggest AMD Radeon cards might also become more expensive, and RAM prices are still high.

Is Intel’s rumored Arc B770 graphics card actually coming out, or will the company abandon the project and concentrate on other things?
