About
In Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown, you’re responsible for the survival of the Voyager starship. This strategy game puts you in command, where you’ll manage resources, make tough choices, and try to guide the ship and crew safely back home.
“What if?” Scenarios
Have you ever thought about how things might have changed if Captain Janeway had made different choices? Or what if a key member of the Voyager crew had taken a different direction? It also makes you wonder what would have happened if the crew had used Borg technology to improve their odds of getting home.
In Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown, you’re in command of the U.S.S. Voyager and get to decide how the story unfolds. Will you take chances, or play cautiously? Will you negotiate, or rely on force? You can even explore technologies the crew previously rejected. Just remember, every choice has consequences! The game uses roguelike elements, meaning each playthrough will be unique, and even familiar characters aren’t safe if you make the wrong decisions.
Deep Ship Management and Research
Okay, so imagine this: Voyager gets flung across the galaxy into the Delta Quadrant, and it’s bad. The ship is seriously damaged, like, needs-a-complete-overhaul damaged. As a fan, I’m picturing myself helping to rebuild everything! We’re talking fixing destroyed rooms, getting life support and power back online, and then actually building things – new crew quarters, labs, workshops… It’s all up to us to decide what gets fixed first and what gets built to make sure Voyager and the crew can survive this crazy journey home. It’s a huge task, but so exciting!
Focus on researching a variety of areas. New technologies and better ship designs will make your vessel stronger and improve crew happiness. You can even explore risky, advanced research – like the technology used by the Borg. As captain, the choice is yours: will you take advantage of this potential, or avoid the inherent risks?
Exploration and Resource Acquisition
The Delta Quadrant is full of both risks and exciting possibilities, waiting for you and your crew to explore. Search planets and other space objects for valuable resources to keep your ship running. You’ll encounter interesting places and strange anomalies, but remember: the Delta Quadrant favors those who are brave, but quickly punishes mistakes. As captain, it’s up to you to decide where to go and how to approach each situation.
Ship Combat and Away Missions
The adventures of the U.S.S. Voyager relied on both spaceship battles and explorations of planets and space stations.
When I’m prepping for a mission, I really focus on building a crew that works well together. I try to pick people whose skills cover all the bases, but ultimately, it’s up to me to decide who goes and how we tackle things. Do I play it safe and minimize risks for everyone? Or do we go in guns blazing? Maybe a more cautious, scientific approach is best? It’s all on me to figure out the best way to handle it.
If peaceful negotiations fall through, the U.S.S. Voyager and its crew are prepared for ship-to-ship combat, and you’re in charge. From the bridge, you’ll direct both attacks and defenses, aiming for the enemy’s critical systems and utilizing powerful weapons. Your crew’s unique abilities are also vital – assign them to key stations and activate their skills at the right moment to give you the best chance of winning.
