Bridgerton showrunner confirms which characters will be the leads of seasons 5 and 6

With the fourth season of Bridgerton arriving later this month, the show’s creator, Jess Brownell, has announced which Bridgerton siblings will take center stage in seasons five and six.

People who love the books and show have been trying to predict which characters will become a couple, and the show’s creator, Brownell, playfully announced the answer through what she wore to the premiere.

Speaking with Deadline at the Paris premiere, the actor revealed that both characters represented by the initials on her pocket squares will each have dedicated seasons in the show’s fifth and sixth installments. She didn’t specify which character will appear first.

I was so excited to notice in the video that Mr. Brownell’s pocket squares subtly hint at Eloise and Francesca! Each square features the initial of one of the sisters – ‘E’ for Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and ‘F’ for Francesca (Hannah Dodd). It’s a clever little detail, but it really got me thinking… who will be the one to take the lead next? Looks like we’ll all have to keep watching to find out!

After being renewed for two more seasons last year, fans can expect to see more of the popular historical drama. The big question now is which Bridgerton sister will take center stage next – will it be Eloise or Francesca?

As you may remember, season 3 ended with a dramatic turn for Francesca. She married Lord Stirling at the Bridgerton estate and then revealed they’d be relocating to his family home in the Scottish Highlands.

At the season finale’s ball, Francesca and Lord Stirling’s cousin, Michaela (played by Masali Baduza), clearly connected. The show has reimagined Michaela’s character and storyline from the books, where Lord Stirling dies and Francesca falls for Michaela. Fans are eagerly anticipating how this will play out in season four – and have already marked their calendars!

At the close of season three, Eloise shocked her family by revealing she’d be joining her sister and Lord Stirling in Scotland. Now, everyone’s wondering: will this trip lead to a romance for Eloise, or will she continue to resist finding a husband?

I was really excited to hear about what’s happening in Bridgerton season 4 at Netflix’s event! Apparently, now that Francesca is married, Eloise is back under her mother’s thumb, and Violet is determined to find her a husband. But things get interesting with Hyacinth, who’s only 14 and desperate to start her own debut season early. The showrunner, Brownwell, said these two will be paired up this season, and it sounds like it’s going to be pretty funny!

This season will center on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). Benedict becomes intrigued by a mysterious woman he meets at his mother’s masquerade ball and is determined to discover her identity.

This season, the show will explore the lives of those working belowstairs, as Sophie’s job as a maid provides a new perspective on the wealthy households. According to creator Brownell, this allows viewers to meet new characters, see different sets, and understand the ‘upstairs’ characters through the eyes of those who serve them. It’s a great way to tell a more complete story.
