Sophie Turner is ready to collect some artifacts.
After being cast as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider series on Prime Video – a project created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge – the actress known for her role in Game of Thrones has finally unveiled her look as the iconic character.
New photos from the streaming service show Sophie Turner wearing a turquoise tank top, black shorts, and red sunglasses. The 29-year-old, who has two daughters – 5-year-old Willa and 3-year-old Delphine – with her ex-husband Joe Jonas, is also sporting a braided hairstyle with some strands loose, along with fingerless gloves, a utility belt, and a gun, mirroring her character’s look.
Camila Mendes, known for her role in Do Revenge, is the latest actress to play Lara Croft, following in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander. Minnie Driver, famous for Good Will Hunting, previously voiced the character in the animated web series Revisioned: Tomb Raider.
Shortly after being cast, Sophie shared in a 2025 statement that she’s always loved Tomb Raider and the character of Lara Croft. She acknowledged the challenge of following Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander’s strong performances, but expressed confidence in director Phoebe’s vision, saying both she and Lara were in good hands.
As she put it, “I can’t wait for you all to see what we have cooking.”
Sophie will be acting with Jason Isaacs, known from The White Lotus, as well as Martin Bobb-Semple, Sigourney Weaver, and other talented actors in a new series. The show is currently being filmed, and we don’t have a release date yet.
Sophie hasn’t shared many specifics about her part in the new Tomb Raider movie, but she recently said she was thrilled to get the chance to be involved.

Sophie recently told Net-A-Porter that her latest role is a departure from what she usually does. She typically plays characters who are insecure and self-doubting, so it was a welcome change to portray someone strong and confident, an ‘action girl’ as she described it.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always fascinated by stories of reinvention, and this one really grabbed me. It centers around Anna, a former news anchor in Atlanta who’s kind of withdrawn from everything – her friends, her job, life in general. But when she hears about a murder back in her quiet hometown of Dahlonega, something clicks. She can’t help but dive into the investigation, determined to uncover the truth. The only problem? Detective Jack Harper is watching her closely, and he’s not sure he trusts her. It quickly becomes clear that everyone has their own version of events, and someone isn’t being honest. It’s a classic ‘his say, her say’ situation, and figuring out who’s lying is the key to solving the mystery.

The Hunting Party is a thrilling crime drama centered around a small team of investigators, led by ex-FBI profiler Rebecca “Bex” Henderson (Melissa Roxburgh). As Bex and her team hunt these fugitives, they uncover a shocking truth: the prison itself is far more sinister than the killers it held, and wasn’t simply a place of confinement.

This story is based on the real lives of people struggling to survive in London’s tough East End during the 1880s. Just as the area of Wapping seems doomed, Mary Carr returns with her trusted ally, Alice Diamond, determined to rebuild her gang and regain control.
