Five years after its initial release, Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse is now a popular title on streaming charts. According to data from FlixPatrol, the film – co-written by Taylor Sheridan and Will Staples – has entered the top 10 on MGM+. This success comes after the film bypassed a traditional theatrical release and went straight to streaming.
Based on the 1993 Tom Clancy novel, Without Remorse features Michael B. Jordan as John Kelly, a Navy SEAL. The movie follows Kelly as he hunts for revenge after his wife and teammates are killed by Russian assassins. Critics and audiences alike praised Jordan’s acting and the film’s exciting action.
When Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse was first released, critics didn’t respond well to it, finding its story and plot predictable and unoriginal. It currently has a low score of 45% on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite the negative reviews, the movie seems to be popular with viewers on MGM+, who enjoy its action-packed scenes and Michael B. Jordan’s strong performance.
The initial plan for Without Remorse was to bring Michael B. Jordan back as John Clark, a character from Tom Clancy’s novels and a popular video game series. Now that the movie has moved from Paramount to Amazon, it’s uncertain if those plans will continue. However, the film feels more like a lengthy preview of the story fans are actually hoping for. This is especially evident in a post-credits scene that quickly tries to reverse the events of the movie’s ending. While John Clark is a well-known character from Clancy’s work, Without Remorse doesn’t quite capture his essence, leaving him feeling generic and undefined.
Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse Finally Gets Its Due
I’m really excited about this project, but it seems like things are moving slowly on the production side. I heard they were planning to start filming right after Chad Stahelski finished with John Wick: Chapter 4, but as of now, they haven’t even begun!
In Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, we see the beginnings of John Clark, a popular character from Tom Clancy’s stories. After his pregnant wife is murdered, elite Navy SEAL John Kelly sets out for revenge, uncovering a dangerous international conspiracy along the way. When Russian soldiers kill his family as payback for a secret mission, Kelly teams up with a fellow SEAL and a CIA agent to hunt down the killers. Their investigation reveals a hidden plot that could lead to war between the U.S. and Russia. Kelly must balance his desire for personal justice with his duty to his country, and he’ll have to be ruthless to stop the conspiracy and prevent disaster.
I recently watched Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, and it was directed by Stefano Sollima. The story was written by Sheridan and Staples, and while Michael B. Jordan is the lead, the cast is full of great actors! I also saw Jamie Bell, Jodie Turner-Smith, Luke Mitchell, Jack Kesy, Brett Gelman, Lauren London, Colman Domingo, and Guy Pearce all in it – a really strong ensemble.
Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse is available to stream now on MGM+.
