Starting April 20th, Cygames and Arc System Works will be reducing the online services for the fighting game Granblue Fantasy: Versus. This means ranked matches and the online lobby will no longer be available, and players won’t be able to redeem serial codes. Some other online features will still work, but with limited access. The newer game, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, will continue to operate normally.
Here are the details:
1. Features Still Available After Server Downscaling
These game modes and features will still be available, either completely as they are now, or with some limitations.
- Journal
- Gallery
- Glossary
- Game modes
- RPG mode (solo play)
- RPG mode (online backup request)
- Versus mode
- Arcade mode
- Training mode
- Mission training
- Room matches
- Creating and searching for rooms and matching up with other players offline is still possible without the following features:
- Changes to rank and Versus rank
- Replays
- Viewing other players’ profiles
- Customize menu:
- Options
2. Features That Will Become Unavailable After Server Downscaling
The following game modes and features will be removed from the menu or otherwise made unselectable:
- Journal
- Uploading and downloading replays
- Game modes
- Ranked matches (Ranked Match will be changed to Casual Match in the menu)
- Online lobby
- Rankings
- Customize menu
- Editing player profile
- Announcements:
- All banners and text will display as though the game were in Maintenance Mode (some residual text may remain regarding Ranked Match)
3. Important: Serial Codes
If you have unused bonus serial codes for the original Granblue Fantasy mobile game (from the main game or DLC), please note that the “Serial Codes” menu option will be removed after March 31, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET. To make sure you don’t lose them, please take a screenshot or write down your codes before that date. You’ll still be able to redeem these codes after the server update.
4. Trophies
Some trophies are now permanently unavailable because it’s no longer possible to earn them. If you’re aiming to collect all trophies, please do so before the servers are reduced in size.
Unavailable Trophies:
- Now the Real Fight Begins! – Due to being unable to complete tutorial matches.
- Hot Enough for You? – Due to online battle results no longer being recorded.
- Platinum Sky – Due to being unable to complete all trophies (unless the above two trophies have already been unlocked).
Trophies that have already been unlocked will not disappear.
5. Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, the follow-up to Granblue Fantasy: Versus, is still being updated with new content and supported by real-world events. We encourage players who enjoyed the first game to continue supporting Rising.
You can play Granblue Fantasy: Versus on PlayStation 4 and PC through Steam. Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
