Netflix has revealed several new actors joining the cast of its upcoming series, Kennedy. The drama will star Michael Fassbender and explore the story of the Kennedy family.
Michael Fassbender was previously confirmed to play Joe Kennedy Sr., and now Laura Donnelly (known from Outlander) will star as his wife, Rose Kennedy. Ben Miles, who appeared in The Crown, joins the cast as Eddie Moore, a close advisor to Kennedy.
Joining the cast are Nick Robinson and Joshuah Melnick, who will play Joe and Rose Kennedy’s sons, Joe Jr. and Jack. Lydia Peckham and Saura Lightfoot-Leon will portray their daughters, Rosemary and Kick Kennedy.
Joining the show’s new actors, Cole Doman (known for “The Savant”) will play Lem Billings, Jack’s close friend, and Imogen Poots (from “Hedda”) will portray Gloria Swanson, an actress who becomes romantically involved with Joe Sr.

Kennedy explores the personal stories, relationships, conflicts, and hardships that defined one of the most famous families in recent history and influenced the world as we know it.
The series starts in the 1930s and follows the remarkable story of Joe and Rose Kennedy and their nine children. It particularly focuses on Jack, their second son, who battles to find his own identity while living in the shadow of his seemingly perfect older brother.
This series is based on Fredrik Logevall’s book JFK: Coming of Age in the American Century, 1917–1956, and was created by Sam Shaw, who also served as showrunner and executive producer (known for Masters of Sex).

When the project was first revealed, Shaw explained to Tudum that the Kennedy family’s story feels like an American myth – a blend of high drama like Shakespeare and the relatable storylines of a soap opera like The Bold and the Beautiful.
Fredrik Logevall’s impressive and insightful biography goes beyond the public image of the Kennedys, exploring the personal struggles and ambitions that drove them. It offers valuable context not only for understanding the Kennedys, but also for making sense of our current world and considering its future.
As a total movie lover, I’m really excited to dive into this story about a family and a changing world, especially working with talents like Eric Roth and Thomas Vinterberg, and the whole amazing team we’ve assembled. It feels particularly relevant right now, like the things that happened before are suddenly right here with us.
