The popular series “Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams” will be back on BBC for a third installment, however, it’s coming with an unexpected twist compared to previous seasons viewers have enjoyed.
In a new endeavor, the BAFTA-nominated and RTS award-winner finds Flintoff embarking on an even more daunting task: expanding his project throughout the Northwest region of England.
Via this endeavor, the cricketer intends to establish boys’ teams in Manchester and Liverpool, as well as initiate the first girls’ team at a club with limited youth programs in Blackpool. Accompanying him on this journey are ex-Lancashire bowler Kyle Hogg and England Women’s cricket player Kate Cross.
Last summer, I was thrilled to find that Field of Dreams was back for its second season. With my freshly assembled cricket squad and a few promising newcomers, we embarked on an exhilarating international tour across the vibrant landscapes of India.

The decision about the tour was temporarily paused when Flintoff had a car accident during Top Gear filming. However, for him, the year-long delay before joining the guys on tour turned out to be an unexpected blessing.
Speaking with Clyde Holcroft during the release of season 2, Flintoff remarked, “I believe in some aspects, it turned out to be a fortunate event.” He wasn’t referring to the accident but instead emphasized that “the team had an extra year of maturity under their belts,” which proved advantageous.
“And they were absolutely great… not all the time but most of the time!”
Clare Sillery, the Chief of BBC Documentary Commissioning, commented on the series’ continuation, stating that Freddie Flintoff has shown himself to be a remarkable example to follow.
Witnessing the enthusiasm and dedication this man has for cricket, especially in the lives of the lads from Preston who play on his team, has been truly inspiring. It’s heartening to know he’s returning for another series, adding to the triumphs of the previous one.
