Good news for Forza Horizon players! The next game in the series is officially coming out on May 19, 2026, as announced during the Xbox Developer Direct in January.
The Developer Direct event featured games from Xbox studios like Playground Games and Turn 10, as well as partner Game Freak. The show kicked off with an in-depth look at Forza Horizon 6, where developers from Playground Games and Turn 10 revealed details about the game’s setting in Tokyo.
Forza Horizon 6 will launch this spring, and the developers recently highlighted new features like collaborative building and improved accessibility options. The game will be available on Xbox and PC starting May 19th. PlayStation players will need to wait until later in 2026 to experience the game, despite the recent trend of Xbox releasing its first-party titles on multiple platforms.
Forza Horizon 6 features a new story mode where players begin as visitors to Japan and must compete in qualifying races to earn their place in larger competitions. The game also expands on its social features with a customizable home base that players can share and visit with friends. Inspired by the famous Daikoku car meets in Japan, players can now participate in Car Meets within the game.
Xbox has announced that when Forza Horizon 6 is released, it will feature a huge selection of 550 cars, including the 2025 GR GT Prototype and the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser, which are featured on the game’s cover.
While Xbox, Playground Games, and Turn 10 haven’t announced a specific date, they’ve confirmed the game will be released on PlayStation sometime in 2026.
