Emily Maynard, Tyler Johnson React to Birth of Ricki Hendrick’s Baby

Emily Maynard Johnson and husband Tyler Johnson couldn’t be happier to add a new rose to their garden.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always thrilled to see families grow, and it was so heartwarming to witness this recently! My stepdaughter, Ricki Hendrick, welcomed her beautiful baby girl, Romi, and we’ve all been completely smitten. Of course, we’ve been sharing lots of sweet photos – those first moments with a new grandchild are just too precious not to capture and share!

Emily, known from season 8 of the ABC show, and Tyler announced the arrival of their grandchild on Instagram today with a joyful post and three white heart emojis. They described the feeling as beyond words, simply stating, “This is love.”

A heartwarming photo shows Ricki’s mom kissing her stepdad, who is lovingly holding their granddaughter. Another picture features the entire family – including Emily and Tyler’s children Jennings (10), Gibson (9), Gatlin (7), Magnolia (5), and Jones (3) – all smiling for the camera. Ricki, 20, is pictured in her hospital bed, cradling her own daughter.

The couple, who got married in 2014, ended their post with a quote from 1 John 4:7-11.

Ricki recently announced the birth of her first baby, born on January 23rd, sharing touching black-and-white photos from right after the delivery. One photo shows Ricki on the delivery table, gazing at her newborn daughter. Another features Ricki’s parents, Emily and Tyler, lovingly looking at their granddaughter. Ricki has not yet revealed the baby’s father.

As she captioned the Jan. 23 social media post, “Best day ever.”

It’s so heartwarming to see how much joy this little one is bringing to everyone! It wasn’t just Ricki who was over the moon – her brother, Tyler, shared her announcement too. He posted on Instagram that he was completely speechless, just overflowing with love for his sister and her new baby. It was such a sweet message, and I know this is a day the whole family will treasure forever.

Emily recently reacted to comments about Ricki’s pregnancy by playfully addressing concerns about Ricki having a child outside of marriage, expressing her joy about becoming a grandmother.

Emily jokingly expressed strong disapproval in September, responding to something on her daughter’s Instagram Stories with a smile. Ricki, standing beside her, laughed as Emily declared the act ‘unforgivable.’
