Channing Tatum Details Parenting Challenges

As a dad, Channing Tatum is always willing to step up to the challenge.

The actor, who has a 12-year-old daughter named Everly with his former wife, Jenna Dewan, deeply relates to the difficult experiences of his character in Josephine. This personal understanding helps him portray the complexities of a father figure.

Parenting is a constantly evolving challenge, he shared with TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi at the Sundance Film Festival premiere on January 23rd. He explained that it requires balancing discipline with unconditional love – knowing when to be firm and when to simply offer support and affection.

When Channing Tatum, 45, prepared to play Damien in the thriller directed by Beth de Araújo, he didn’t rely only on his own experiences as a parent.

He described the character as quite different from his everyday personality. He drew inspiration from his own father when developing the role, seeing the character as a blend of himself and his dad.

One of the challenges he’s encountered as a parent is that his tween daughter doesn’t think he’s cool, even though she’s watched many of his films. He admits she remains unimpressed.

He said she dismissed them, telling TopMob last year, ‘I don’t want to see those.’ He added that she pretends not to be bothered.

Things might be looking up for Channing Tatum’s role as Gambit. He’s scheduled to return in the upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday, which will also bring back popular Marvel actors like Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Hiddleston.

Despite the exciting project and its famous cast, the 45-year-old is refusing to discuss it. When asked about it by TopMob at Sundance, he playfully responded, “I have no idea what you mean.”
