The Hollywood Reporter noted that the show’s strong ratings led HBO to approve another season. Season 2 of Euphoria first aired in January 2022 and continued to be shown weekly on HBO.
When asked about the new season, cast members repeatedly said they didn’t know when filming would begin. The delay was due to a few factors, including the 2023 writers and actors strike, and because the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, was busy working on his other series, The Idol.
‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Will Premiere on HBO in April 2026

As a longtime viewer of Euphoria, I was thrilled when HBO announced a release window for Season 3 – April 2026! The good news kept coming in January when they pinpointed the premiere date: Sunday, April 12th at 9 PM EST. And thankfully, it looks like we’ll be getting new episodes weekly, just like we’re used to with the show.
The first season of Euphoria, with eight episodes, originally aired from June 16th to August 4th, 2019. Two special episodes followed in December 2020 and January 2021. The eight-episode second season premiered on January 9th, 2022, and concluded on February 27th, 2022.
What ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Will Be About

The characters in Euphoria have gone through incredibly difficult experiences over the last two seasons, including unexpected pregnancies, assaults, struggles with drugs, intense family issues, and abandonment. What sets Euphoria apart from other shows for teens is how honestly it portrays these challenges. So, what can viewers expect from Season 3?
During an HBO Max presentation in London in December 2025, Sam Levinson offered a preview of what to expect in Euphoria Season 3. The Hollywood Reporter noted that he revealed the season will jump forward five years, a natural progression if the show were to follow the characters through college and beyond. We’ll see what they’re up to after graduation: Lexi is working as an assistant to a showrunner, Maddy is working with a talent manager, and Jules is attending art school. Rue is reportedly in Mexico, owing money to Laurie, which sounds like a compelling storyline. Plus, as shown in the Season 3 trailer, Cassie now has an OnlyFans account.
Another key plotline revolves around Cassie and Nate’s marriage, a decision that has surprised some viewers while others predicted it. Regardless of how fans react, it’s clear their relationship isn’t a particularly healthy one. Unlike typical friends-to-lovers stories in teen shows, this connection has been troubled from the beginning, especially for Cassie. According to creator Levinson, their wedding will be a memorable event and marks what he considers their strongest season to date.
So, the story picks up with Cassie now living a seemingly perfect suburban life – she’s engaged to Nate and, on the surface, everything looks great. But honestly, she’s really caught up in social media, constantly scrolling and feeling like everyone she went to high school with is living a much more exciting life than she is. It’s that classic comparison trap, and it’s really affecting her.
Many excellent TV shows focus on the drama of high school life, but it’s often difficult for them to continue successfully after that period. While shows like One Tree Hill and Beverly Hills, 90210 tried to evolve their stories – with time jumps or characters going to college – it probably makes sense for Euphoria to wrap up its story with the characters leaving high school.

The majority of the original cast will return for Season 3 of Euphoria, but there will be some changes. Sadly, Angus Cloud, who played Fez, passed away last year. Additionally, Storm Reid will not reprise her role as Gia, and Barbie Ferreira won’t be returning as Kat.

In February 2025, Deadline announced Sharon Stone would be joining the cast of Euphoria Season 3. Variety reported the same month that Kadeem Hardison, Marshawn Lynch, and Rosalía would also be in the new season, alongside Toby Wallace, Priscilla Delgado, Anna Van Patten, Darrell Britt-Gibson, James Landry Hébert, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. More cast members were revealed in October 2025, including Gideon Adlon, Matthew Willig, Eli Roth, Sam Trammell, Kwane Patterson, Jessica Blair Herman, and Natasha Lyonne. These actors will be joining the existing cast, including Cassie and Rue, for Season 3.
