I’m so excited to hear that Tokyo Game Show is going to be a five-day event in 2026! It’s amazing to think the show will be celebrating its 30th anniversary then – it’s a huge milestone, and a longer show means even more to see and do!
The show will return to the famous Makuhari Messe in Chiba from September 17th to 21st, taking advantage of a Japanese national holiday.
The event will kick off with two days exclusively for industry professionals, followed by three days open to the general public. Organizers added an extra day to help reduce crowding and give everyone more time to enjoy the games.
For a while, the Tokyo Game Show was relatively quiet, but it’s recently made a huge comeback, featuring massive exhibits and lots of game reveals happening around the show itself.
Sony, a major presence at the 2025 event, typically hosts a “State of Play” presentation in early September, just before the event begins.
Although we don’t yet know which companies will exhibit or what games will be featured at this year’s event, the organizers have revealed the logo celebrating the show’s 30th anniversary, and you can see it above.
Here’s hoping for another good show this year filled with tons of amazing games.
