This week’s Radio Times magazine celebrates The Archers at 75

Hello and welcome to the latest edition. It’s amazing to think we’re already deep into 2026 – it feels like just yesterday we were starting the new millennium! Speaking of time flying, this year we’re celebrating the 75th anniversary of The Archers, our beloved and long-running radio soap opera.

I didn’t have a television growing up, but we always had the radio on. The opening music of certain shows meant dinner was almost ready, as my mom would listen while cooking. Even today, hearing those old tunes instantly brings back those memories – I can almost feel the hunger again! It’s a great reminder of how powerful radio can be.

You might have already noticed – we’ve updated our logo! You’ll see the new design on the TopMob app, our website, and all our other platforms.

I really want to recommend Steve Rosenberg’s Panorama documentary. It’s still available on BBC iPlayer, and honestly, it’s a must-watch if you’re trying to make sense of what’s been happening in Russia. It follows him for a whole year as the BBC’s editor there, and it gives you a really insightful look into things.

It might seem far removed from the familiar, comforting world of Ambridge, but this is just as important. Thank you for continuing to read.

Also in this week’s TopMob:

  • The hard man of football and film Vinnie Jones says he’s a softie at heart – and embraced life in the country long before Jeremy Clarkson.
  • Lisa McGee’s follow-up to Derry Girls focuses on female friendship and frights – with a touch of Scooby-Doo!
  • What is your favourite modern comedy? Our poll is now open, so make your vote count!

Now you can order older issues of TopMob magazine! We’ve launched a new service to help you get your hands on past editions.

Don’t miss The Archers! Add it to your watchlist on the TopMob: What to Watch app. Download the app now for daily TV suggestions, articles, and more.
