Supermassive Games has revealed when players can finally experience their new story-driven horror game, Directive 8020.
The latest installment in the Dark Pictures Anthology, previously delayed, will now be released on May 12th, 2026. A new trailer is available for those who want to pre-order the game.
I’m so excited for Directive 8020! It’s coming to PS5 as a digital download and a physical disc, which is awesome. Plus, if you pre-order, you automatically get upgraded to the Deluxe Edition, and that comes with some extra goodies!
- The Dark Pictures Outfit Pack
- The Dark Pictures Collectables
- Cinematic Filter Pack
- Digital Soundtrack
- Digital Artbook
The game’s story takes inspiration from the movie The Thing, featuring an alien that can create flawless copies of people. This alien infiltrates a spaceship, causing widespread paranoia as the crew struggles to figure out who is human and who is an imposter.
The trailer hints that you’ll be able to explore planets on foot, not just stay on your ship throughout the game.
Directive 8020 now includes Turning Points, letting you rewind to important decisions and change your choices. This could let you save characters who would have died, or discover different ways the story could unfold.
It looks like you can play without Turning Points if you want a more pure playthrough.
