The BBC removed two episodes of Silent Witness from its broadcast schedule following a recent event in Birmingham.
The third and fourth episodes of the latest season, originally planned to air on BBC One on February 9th as a two-part story called ‘The Enemy Within,’ were unexpectedly replaced with the fifth and sixth episodes.
The Enemy Within centres on the forensics team as they examine a deadly stabbing in Birmingham.
The BBC reportedly changed its broadcast schedule after a machete attack on two teenagers, ages 14 and 15, in Birmingham over the weekend.
As a big fan of Silent Witness, I was disappointed to hear the news. Apparently, because of the awful events in Birmingham over the weekend, the episodes scheduled for this week have been pulled. Instead, the BBC is showing two episodes that were originally meant to air later in the season. It’s understandable, of course, given what happened, but I’m still bummed I won’t see the new ones just yet.

Silent Witness returned for its 29th season last week, relocating from London to Birmingham.
Emilia Fox returned to television in the new season, reprising her role as Dr. Nikki Alexander. David Caves stars alongside her as Jack Hodgson, both as her husband and work partner.
Also returning are Maggie Steed as Harriet and Fran Mills as Kit.
Silent Witness seasons 1-28 are available to stream now on BBC iPlayer.
