One Piece Season 2 Trailer Reveals The Most Powerful Move In The Live-Action Series So Far

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece showcased many impressive attacks and abilities in its first season. Monkey D. Luffy used his signature Gum-Gum powers, and Buggy’s Chop-Chop Cannon was a delightfully over-the-top move. Mackenyu, as Zoro, skillfully performed his character’s unique three-sword fighting style, and Luffy’s climactic axe kick against Arlong delivered the powerful impact fans expected from that key battle.

The action we’ve seen so far is just the beginning! Season 2 of One Piece is set to be even more intense, introducing a wave of new characters with unique powers from the Baroque Works organization. Plus, fan-favorites like Chopper and Smoker will finally make their appearances, bringing a ton of exciting and powerful moves that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Interestingly, the official trailer for Netflix’s One Piece season 2 briefly shows what appears to be the strongest attack seen in the live-action show so far.

The Giants’ Hakoku Sovereignty Is More Powerful Than Anything In Live-Action One Piece So Far

One of the most exciting parts of the One Piece season 2 trailer shows the giant warriors Dorry and Brogy attacking at the same time, their sword swings creating a huge wave in the ocean that heads towards a massive fish. This powerful attack, called Hakoku Sovereignty in Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, happens when a swordsman swings with such force that it creates a long-distance, damaging slash. The trailer shows that multiple fighters, like Dorry and Brogy, can combine their attacks to make Hakoku Sovereignty even more powerful.

Even though the short clip doesn’t quite capture its power, Hakoku Sovereignty is one of the most devastating attacks in One Piece. In the original scene, the attack slices right through the ocean, creates a clean, circular hole through a nearby fish, and continues traveling far into the distance.

Even after about 20 years in the One Piece manga, and over 1000 chapters, the incredibly powerful combined attack is still so effective that Dorry and Brogy haven’t changed their strategy. This really shows how devastating this attack truly is.

Luffy, Buggy, and the villains from Baroque Works in the second season of One Piece don’t possess weapons or abilities as overwhelmingly powerful as some others we’ve seen.

Dorry And Brogy’s Attack Foreshadows A Future One Piece Villain

As a huge One Piece fan, seeing Dorry and Brogy use Hakoku Sovereignty in the live-action series really got me thinking. It’s awesome to see that power on screen, but honestly, it also feels like a warning. It definitely hints at a major, incredibly powerful enemy Luffy will face down the line – someone who also wields this ability. It’s a clever bit of foreshadowing that’s got me even more hyped for what’s to come!

In the anime and manga One Piece, the four most powerful pirates are called the Four Emperors. Currently, these are Red-Haired Shanks, Kaido, Big Mom, and Whitebeard. Interestingly, Big Mom, despite not being a giant herself, spent part of her childhood living with the giants on the island of Elbaph, among the people of Dorry and Brogy.

She became obsessed with giants, and this continued throughout her time as a pirate. She developed a fighting style called Ikoku Sovereignty, which was inspired by Hakoku Sovereignty. Unlike Dorry and Brogy’s attacks, which only helped the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece, Ikoku Sovereignty was repeatedly used against Luffy and his crew, causing them significant trouble. Because Big Mom wielded the weapon, even a single blow could have been deadly.

The live-action adaptation of One Piece might not run long enough to feature the character Big Mom, so viewers should really appreciate it when this exciting moment finally appears in the second season.
