It’s always interesting to watch which games become popular on Steam, as it’s hard to predict which ones will suddenly become a huge success, like PEAK. When you hear that major releases like Forza Horizon 6 and Resident Evil Requiem are the second and third most wishlisted games, it makes you wonder what game is currently number one.
Rhys Elliott from Alinea Analytics highlights that Subnautica 2 from Unknown Worlds is highly anticipated, recently detailing its cooperative gameplay features. Despite a difficult development process, including legal issues with Krafton and the studio’s founders, the game has already received 3.8 million wishlists on platforms like Steam. While this level of interest isn’t unexpected – the original Subnautica and its sequel, Subnautica: Below Zero, were both major successes – Elliott points out that the game has been available for wishlisting since November 2024.
In comparison, Forza Horizon 6, which was added to wishlists in September 2025, has already reached 2.6 million wishlists. Plus, it’s reportedly sold 220,000 copies on Steam since pre-orders started, generating $13 million in revenue.
I’m really excited about Resident Evil Requiem – it’s already close behind with 2.5 million wishlists! Seeing Leon S. Kennedy revealed definitely got people talking, and apparently, a huge 39% of those who’ve wishlisted it also played the Resident Evil 4 remake. Capcom said there won’t be a demo, but I can’t help but think a demo now would make even more people interested!
This year, players can look forward to early access for Subnautica 2 on Xbox Series X/S and PC. Resident Evil Requiem will be available on February 27th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Forza Horizon 6 is coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC on May 19th, and a PlayStation 5 version will follow later in the year.
Here’s the three most wishlisted 2026 games on Steam right now (@alineaanalytics Analytics estimates).#Subnautica2 is currently the most wishlisted Steam game with a 2026 release date, with 3.8M wishlists.
These impressive pre-launch metrics are no surprise. The original game…— Rhys Elliott (@superhys) February 10, 2026
