Zayn Malik will spoil his daughter from dusk till dawn—no matter the cost.
Zayn, the singer of “Pillow Talk,” recently revealed how his ex-girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, responded when he bought their daughter, Khai, a very expensive gift after she lost her first tooth.
Zayn, 33, revealed on the February 11th episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast that he might have overdone it with the Tooth Fairy payment. When host Alex Cooper asked how much he’d left for his daughter Khai, he admitted it was “$500.”
He joked, “It’s her first tooth! Her mom was upset with me about it, but honestly, I work really hard and I deserve to be able to provide for my daughter.”
To mark the occasion, former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson shared that he plans to frame the tooth. He’s also thinking about what to give his daughter, Khai, when she loses her second tooth!
Oh my gosh, he’s just the sweetest! He was joking about only giving their little girl five dollars for a lost tooth – can you believe it? He said the Tooth Fairy’s having a tough time, haha! But seriously, he explained it’s their first child, and people have opinions, you know? He then shared that he didn’t even get anything for his lost teeth growing up! It’s so relatable! He’s worked so hard for everything he has, and he’s right, he shouldn’t have to justify spoiling his daughter just because others might judge. It just shows how grounded he is, despite everything!
As a longtime fan, it really touches me to hear that being able to provide for his daughter means ‘everything’ to the artist behind ‘Vibez’. He and his ex-partner were together, on and off, for almost six years until 2021, and knowing he faced financial struggles growing up makes this even more special. It’s clear he’s determined to give his daughter a better life, and that’s incredibly admirable.
He explained that he’s raising his daughter differently than most kids. With a pop star father and a model mother, her life experiences will likely be very different from what others consider normal.
Zayn didn’t just think about his relationship with Gigi once during the podcast. He also shared that despite his feelings for her—she’s currently dating Bradley Cooper—their connection never developed into a deep, committed love.
He wanted to make it clear that he will always love G, because she is the mother of his child. He has deep respect for her, but questioned whether he was ever in love with her. He believes if he had been, he would have been a better person.
This realization helped him understand he hadn’t truly known his own feelings in previous relationships, including his time engaged to Perrie Edwards of Little Mix. Now, after being single and rethinking what closeness means to him, he’s come to believe that his understanding of love is constantly evolving.
Looking back, I thought it was love at the time, but now I see it might have just been attraction. I definitely made mistakes in relationships when I was younger – I wasn’t always respectful, and I shouldn’t have talked to other women when I was with someone. You learn from those experiences, and it’s good to finally feel like I’ve moved past any guilt.
