There’s No Stopping Multiplayer Sensation ARC Raiders, Reaches 14 Million Copies Sold

ARC Raiders is gaining popularity, as Nexon’s latest financial report shows the multiplayer shooter is reaching a large audience.

The sci-fi shooter has now sold 14 million copies. This is an increase of 1.6 million units since mid-January, when sales were at 12.4 million.

The game reached a record high last month with nearly 960,000 players online at the same time. It currently has around six million players who enjoy it every week, which shows a remarkably strong ability to keep players engaged.

This clearly shows that games updated continuously with new content can be very popular and attract a large player base. That’s why Sony has been trying to create more of these types of games, although they haven’t always been successful.

As a big fan, I’m thrilled Helldivers 2 is doing so well – it’s definitely their biggest hit yet! Seeing this success makes me really hopeful that PlayStation will keep taking chances on cool, new games like this one.

Games like ARC Raiders and Helldivers 2 have proven that this genre can be successful, but it’s a very competitive space. Many ambitious games don’t catch on with players, and some fail spectacularly. Concord is a well-known example of a flop, and recently, Highguard also struggled to find an audience, ultimately leading to layoffs for the majority of its development team.

Some games quickly become hits, while others fade away fast. Luckily, ARC Raiders is doing well and looks set to stay popular, as long as the developers at Embark Studios continue to add fresh, engaging content.
