I’m excited to share that a release date is finally set for “The Walsh Sisters,” the new series based on Marian Keyes’s hugely popular novels. It’ll be six episodes long, and I’ve been eagerly awaiting this adaptation – Keyes’ books are fantastic, and I’m hoping the series does them justice.
The show was first shown in Ireland on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player last year, but viewers in the UK can now watch it on BBC One and BBC iPlayer starting Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Every episode will be released on BBC iPlayer at 6am, and the first one will also be shown on BBC One that evening at 9:15pm.
The show features Louisa Harland, Caroline Menton, Stefanie Preissner, Danielle Galligan, and Máiréad Tyers as five sisters – Anna, Rachel, Maggie, Claire, and Helen – following their lives through the ups and downs of their twenties and thirties.

The series follows three sisters bound by a complex history of shared experiences, inside jokes, and lingering hurts. Despite facing challenges like heartbreak, loss, addiction, and the ups and downs of raising children, they remain connected through their family bond and a surprising love of power ballads.
Preissner not only acts in the series but also wrote the scripts for four of the episodes. Kefi Chadwick, known for ‘Rivals,’ penned the remaining two.
Aidan Quinn, known for his work in ‘Rematch,’ and Carrie Crowley, from ‘Hope Street,’ star as the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walsh, in the series.

When the series was first announced, Keyes expressed her excitement in a statement, saying she was thrilled with how well the scripts captured the essence of the books. She admitted it had been difficult keeping the project a secret and shared her relief that the news was finally public.
You can start watching The Walsh Sisters on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Saturday, February 21st. It will also be shown on BBC One later that evening at 9:15pm.
