Okay, so I stumbled upon this 8-part crime thriller on Netflix late last year, and seriously, it’s amazing. I was completely hooked and finished the whole thing in a single weekend. It’s definitely one of the best binge-worthy series they’ve got right now.
This Netflix limited series, starring Jason Bateman and Jude Law, was generally well-received by viewers, though critics were less impressed. Despite the criticism, it’s a captivating crime thriller perfect for a weekend binge.
Netflix’s Black Rabbit Is Great For A 2-Night Weekend Binge
Netflix’s crime thriller, Black Rabbit, is perfect for a weekend binge. The series stars Law and Bateman as brothers who reconnect to manage a beloved New York City bar.
In Black Rabbit, Jude Law plays Jake Friedken, the successful owner of a trendy Manhattan restaurant and bar called the Black Rabbit. His life is going smoothly until his brother, Vince (played by Jason Bateman), unexpectedly appears needing help – as he often does when caught up in trouble.
Bringing Vince back into the Black Rabbit – the business he co-founded with Jake years ago – intentionally or not, reintroduces trouble into Jake’s life. This ultimately has severe and heartbreaking consequences for both his company and the people around him. However, Jake isn’t without fault either, and struggles with his own personal issues throughout the eight episodes.
Black Rabbit Deserves More Critical Acclaim Than It Got
Netflix
Despite being a highly anticipated Netflix release in Fall 2025, the film Black Rabbit received a surprisingly modest 67% score on Rotten Tomatoes. This contrasts with the 80% rating from viewers, who generally enjoyed the movie more than critics did.
Whether critics liked it or not, Black Rabbit definitely keeps you hooked with its fast-paced and immersive experience. It was created by Zach Baylin, who also worked on The Order and King Richard, and directed by a team that included several people from the show Ozark, like Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, and Ben Semanoff.
Look, there are so many crime thrillers dropping on Netflix these days – new stuff like Cash Queens, His & Hers, and Kohrra is coming out all the time, and honestly, it can be overwhelming trying to pick something good. But trust me, Black Rabbit is absolutely worth clearing your weekend for. It’s seriously one of the best crime thrillers Netflix has put out, and you won’t regret it.
