As expected, Bungie revealed a new trailer for Marathon at State of Play. The trailer features a dramatic voiceover by Jennifer English and shows a squad leader desperately requesting assistance, admitting to terrible acts committed in order to stay alive. You can watch it below.
As many players predicted, the developer announced a special event called Server Slam, running from February 26th to March 2nd on all platforms. This event is a preview of the game and offers unlockable rewards that carry over to the full version. PlayStation Plus members will also get exclusive access to weapon charms themed around Helldivers 2, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and Ghost of Yotei.
The game Marathon will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC starting March 5th for $40. And the recent State of Play presentation wasn’t the last you’ll see of it! A livestream of gameplay is scheduled for 3 PM PST, offering a closer look at future content, including Season 1’s Cryo Archive. This content, set aboard the UESC Marathon, will add challenging end-game activities where players will ultimately face a formidable enemy.
The game will feature three expansive maps: Perimeter, Dire Marsh, and The Outpost. Based on feedback from early testing, The Outpost now includes a new challenge to keep gameplay exciting. Players will be able to choose from six different Runners at launch, and while Bungie hasn’t confirmed it, more Runners are likely to be added after the game releases.
