As expected, a remastered version of Legacy of Kain: Defiance is officially coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 very soon.
Fans of the original series will be excited to hear that Kain is back on March 3rd! You can pre-order the revival on the PlayStation Store today.
So, like with the recent Legacy of Kain remasters, Defiance Remastered isn’t just a simple re-release. They’re adding a bunch of cool extras and even tweaking the gameplay a bit, which is awesome. It’s not just a nostalgia trip; they’re actually improving the experience.
Defiance was a noticeable improvement over earlier games in the series, though it still felt a bit clunky at times. We’re optimistic these updates will help smooth things out and make the game even better.
Here’s a quick summary of what’s new:
- Modern HD Graphics – Updated high-definition visuals applied across the entire experience
- Camera Upgrades – Right-stick camera control with full Y-axis movement augments the original fixed camera.
- Graphics and Camera Toggle – Instantly switch between remastered and original graphics at any point during gameplay, including Photo Mode
- World & Level Maps – Improved wayfinding to support exploration
- Character Skins – Unlockable skins drawn from across Legacy of Kain history, including Kain’s human noble form and Raziel’s vampiric appearance
- Lore & Archival Content – Lost levels, concept art, and lore articles fans have come to expect
