Season 2 will continue to follow the Straw Hats as they navigate the dangerous Grand Line, and the trailer gives a glimpse of the challenges and new characters they’ll encounter along the way.
A powerful group called the Baroque Works will be central to the upcoming story, acting as the main enemies for the Straw Hat pirates as they journey through the Grand Line. The latest trailer showcased most of the organization’s key members and suggested their importance to the new season. However, fans were surprised not to see Mr. 0, also known as Crocodile – the leader of Baroque Works. Since his actor has already been announced, viewers were hoping for a glimpse of him, and his absence has led to worries that he might not be featured this season.
One Piece Season 2’s New Trailer Misses a Prominent Character
Back in September 2024, Netflix revealed that Joe Manganiello would play Crocodile, a major villain also known as Mr. 0. Because this announcement happened so far in advance, fans naturally assumed he’d be a key part of Season 2. As Netflix slowly released information about new characters, they kept Crocodile’s appearance a secret, likely to build excitement and reveal him closer to the season’s launch. With the release of this latest trailer just before the premiere, many viewers anticipated seeing Crocodile, confirming his role and suggesting he might have a significant part to play.
Crocodile wasn’t featured in the newest trailer, which likely means he’ll have a small part in the next season, or might not appear at all. He could be introduced like Smoker was in Season 1 of One Piece – a quick glimpse hinting at his connection to Baroque Works. This idea is strengthened by a promotional poster that did show Crocodile, though only from behind.
Although many fans were hoping to see Crocodile play a significant role soon, it seems his introduction might be saved for later seasons. This could mean the live-action One Piece series is carefully adapting the story from the original source material. If this is the case, those eager to see Crocodile in action on Netflix might have to wait until Season 3, which is likely still a year or two away.
