Simone Biles Makes Surprise Appearance at Winter Olympics 2026

Simone Biles is flipping the script at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles enjoyed watching the Milano-Cortina Games with her husband, Jonathan Owens. They attended the men’s single figure skating event on February 13th to support the athletes.

I spotted Simone – looking absolutely chic in an ivory jacket, white jeans, and statement stiletto boots – at the figure skating competition! She was cheering on incredible talents like Ilia Malinin and Andrew Torgashev, and even got a chance to meet Georgian athlete Nika Egadze – such a fun night! She was there with a Chicago Bears safety, and they both seemed really into the performances.

Despite winning eleven Olympic medals in gymnastics—seven of which are gold—Simone admits she wouldn’t be able to ice skate.

She admitted to the arena audience that while she could skate, she wasn’t at the level of the incredible athletes competing that night.

She praised their efforts, saying she was fully supporting them and hoping for the best, and expressed her excitement about watching what would happen.

Mikhail Shaidorov of Kazakhstan won the gold medal. Yuma Kagiyama of Japan took silver, and Shun Sato earned the bronze.

Simone hasn’t decided yet if she’ll compete at the Los Angeles Summer Olympics in two years. She’s still considering her options.

Last year, she told Sports Illustrated that after achieving so much, she felt there wasn’t much left to prove. She didn’t want to come across as arrogant and wondered what the point of continuing would be. She explained she’s reached a stage where she’s comfortable knowing when it’s time to retire.

Simone went on to say that returning would be a mistake, leading to selfishness. She explained that the consequences would be her responsibility, but ultimately the choice was hers. She wondered what she’d have to give up if she went back – things like missing important life events. When you’re young, it’s prom or college, but now it’s things like building a family or being separated from her husband. She questioned what truly mattered enough to make those sacrifices.

Simone Biles, the celebrated gymnast who struggled with dizziness during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, says she still feels mentally strong enough to compete.

Honestly, I don’t even think I fully get what she’s accomplished yet! It’s like, she’s just out there doing it, being amazing, and it feels… normal to her, which is wild to me! I keep thinking she won’t really realize how incredible she is until she’s actually stopped competing, maybe a couple years into retirement when she can look back and be like, ‘Wow, I was really good!’ I can see it now, watching her, but she’s living it, so it just feels like… Tuesday for her, you know?
