Why The Magic Faraway Tree trailer?
Many people who grew up with early Channel 4 might recall its launch night, featuring a humorous take on Enid Blyton’s Famous Five called ‘Five Go Mad in Dorset,’ which playfully contrasted with the traditional, idyllic versions of the stories. Despite that comedic twist, the original books remain popular. Following the success of beloved characters like Paddington, Enid Blyton’s work is being revisited, and the trailer for a new adaptation of ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ looks wonderfully enchanting.
What’s The Magic Faraway Tree about?
In The Magic Faraway Tree, Polly and Tim, along with their three children, move to the quiet English countryside. While settling in, the children stumble upon a magical tree filled with unusual characters like Moonface, Silky, Dame Washalot, and Saucepan Man. This tree transports them to amazing and imaginative worlds, and through their adventures, the family begins to reconnect and appreciate each other after years of distance.
Behind the scenes…..
This film boasts an incredible cast, including Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy, Nicola Coughlan, Nonso Anozie, Jessica Gunning, Dustin Demri-Burns, Mark Heap, Oliver Chris, Lenny Henry, Michael Palin, and Simon Russell Beale, alongside Jennifer Saunders and Rebecca Ferguson. We’re especially excited to see Simon Farnaby, who not only appears in the film but also wrote the script. He has a proven track record with successful adaptations, having been BAFTA-nominated for his work on ‘Paddington 2’. Fans should also check out his films ‘The Phantom of the Open’ (starring Mark Rylance) and the quirky comedy ‘Mindhorn’, where he delivers a memorably eccentric performance with a Dutch accent.
THE MAGIC FARAWAY TREE is in UK and Ireland cinemas on 27th March 2026
