Lead Children (Olowiane Dzieci), a Polish drama, tells the story of a young doctor in 1970s Communist Poland who discovers children near a factory are suffering from lead poisoning. Facing government opposition and a lack of support, she bravely risks everything – her job and her safety – to help them. Lead Children is Uniquely Dark
Featuring strong performances from Joanna Kulig, Agata Kulesza, and Kinga Preis, the series Lead Children is a compelling entry into the growing genre of stories about environmental contamination – similar to Chernobyl, Toxic Town, and Erin Brockovich. Similar to the acclaimed series Chernobyl, which told a complete story and won’t have future seasons, Lead Children explores a difficult but important historical event.
