The trailers for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie have all hinted at themes of family and parenthood. Chris Evans is reprising his role as Steve Rogers, and one trailer shows him holding a baby, suggesting it’s his child. Another teaser features a touching scene between Charles Xavier and Magneto, immediately followed by Cyclops dramatically removing his visor and unleashing his signature red energy beams.
The latest trailer shows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) walking through a forest and offering a prayer to his father. He asks to be able to return to his daughter, Love, after everything is finished. We see a quick shot of Thor gently kissing Love’s forehead while she sleeps. He explains that he’s always answered the call to fight and fulfill his duties, but now he has a daughter – a peaceful life he never expected. He prays for the strength to win one last battle so he can return home to her, not as a warrior, but as a loving father. The trailer ends with a hint of a massive, final battle on the horizon.
Chris Hemsworth Speaks Out On His Thoughts

During an appearance on The View, the actor discussed the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie and hinted at a change in style from his previous film, Love & Thunder. He explained that the movie’s preview suggests a noticeably different feel than Love & Thunder.
I really enjoyed my time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe because I could subtly change my character’s personality every few movies. Some people found that a little jarring, but it was creatively fulfilling for me. As for the new film, you’ve seen in the trailer that my character is seeking guidance from his father. There’s a lot riding on this one, and I have to be very careful about what I say – I’m already saying too much! I even received instructions to stop talking during interviews.
Everyone knows the Thor we’ll see in Doomsday will be quite different from the one in Love & Thunder. This new Thor will be much more serious and have a strong motivation to survive.
