Dynamite Entertainment is re-releasing classic, fan-favorite issues to comic book stores.
Dynamite Entertainment announced that fans will soon be able to collect key moments from the original comic book series with the release of The Boys Bloody Blind Bags. Each bag will contain three random, limited-edition variant comic books from important issues of The Boys.
Dynamite Entertainment announced that special bags will be released alongside a new print run of The Boys omnibus volumes in April, commemorating the comic’s 20th anniversary.
The new collection, The Boys Bloody Blind Bags, will include issues #1 through #4 of The Boys comic series. These issues are significant because they introduce key characters: #1 features Billy Butcher, Wee Hughie, and A-Train; #2 introduces Frenchie, The Female, and Mother’s Milk; #3 contains introductions; and #4 features The Deep, Teenage Kix, and completes the lineup for The Seven.
Collectors can also find issue #7 of The Boys, the first comic published by Dynamite Entertainment and where the characters Stormfront and The Legend first appeared. Completing the set of key issues in The Boys Bloody Blind Bags are issues #52 and #65 of The Boys.
What the Future Looks Like for The Boys Franchise
Even though the original comic books finished a while back, The Boys is more popular than ever. This is largely due to the continuing success of the streaming series and its spin-offs from Amazon MGM Studios. The next season of the main series will premiere on Prime Video on April 8th.
Good news for fans of The Boys: several spin-off series are on the way, including Gen V and the upcoming Vought Rising. The creator of the streaming series explained that while they have plans for a third season of Gen V, they need enough people to watch the second season first to make it happen.
The same goes for the expanding world of The Boys, including Season 1 of Vought Rising. According to creator Eric Kripke, they’re hoping to make a second season if it performs well. Amazon has been supportive and given them chances to grow the story, but ultimately, the show needs to attract viewers. Kripke is eager to continue as long as there are compelling stories to tell and new aspects of the universe to uncover. He believes there’s a lot of potential to explore after the end of The Boys Season 5.
Dynamite Entertainment’s The Boys Bloody Blind Bags will be available in comic book stores this April.
