Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remake Reveal Potentially Set for April – Rumor

There was a lot of excitement about a possible remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag from Ubisoft. However, after some recent changes within the company, the remake has reportedly been pushed back to 2027. Despite the delay, Ubisoft might still share details about the game in the near future.

According to Insider Gaming’s Mike Straw, the game is still being developed and a reveal is possible in April. This aligns with a previous report from insider shinobi602, who correctly predicted the game wouldn’t be shown at State of Play and indicated a reveal was coming soon. A release date has reportedly been targeted, but it remains to be seen if the game will actually launch next year.

Rumors about a remake of Black Flag have been circulating for a while, starting as early as July 2023. Throughout 2025, more and more clues appeared, including hints from voice actor Matt Ryan (who plays Edward Kenway) and a rating from PEGI that suggested the game would be called Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

Originally, the game was expected to release on March 19th, but Ubisoft decided to start over. So far, reports suggest several updates, like weather effects similar to those in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, fresh content, the removal of sections set in the present day, and a better map.
