Dan Rivera’s family is in mourning.
After the demise of the paranormal investigator, it was David Rivera, one of Dan’s four offspring, who posted a tribute to his father on a GoFundMe webpage.
As an over-the-moon fanboy, let me pen down my thoughts: “My old man was an unwavering dad and a devoted spouse. He was renowned for his role as the lead paranormal sleuth at NESPR, a place where he rescued countless souls from their darkest hours, offering solace and instilling a feeling of security in those who yearned for it. Yet, what truly set him apart was not his professional accomplishments; it was that he was my dad – an extraordinary man who loved with all his heart and lived life to the fullest.
As per David’s account, Dan had a keen interest in restoring classic automobiles, enjoyed both rock and hip hop music, appreciated the outdoors through camping, and cherished spending time with his loved ones. Moreover, he noted that Dan was always able to brighten any space with his warm smile, genuine kindness, and sharp, humorous wit.
The message discusses potential costs that the family might face in the future since Dan, who has passed away, did not have a life insurance policy.
David expressed, “For the past 25 years, I was fortunate enough to be with my father. I wasn’t psychologically, bodily or financially ready to say goodbye so soon.” He further added, “My family and I are deeply thankful for your kindness, love, and respect as we navigate through this difficult period.
On July 13, Dan was discovered lifeless in his hotel room in Gettysburg, where he was on tour with the supposedly haunted Annabelle doll, which served as the inspiration for the Conjuring franchise, and was being investigated by the New England Society of Psychic Research (NESPR).
There’s been a lot of discussion among fans and paranormal believers about whether the doll might have contributed to Dan’s demise. However, police have reported finding nothing out of the ordinary or suspicious at the scene of his passing, and a Pennsylvania State Police report from July 16th classifies Dan’s death as natural.
Amid the speculation, fellow paranormal investigator Jason Hawes alsospoke out to debunk rumors.
Jason posted on Facebook that we’ve sadly lost a kind-hearted individual recently. Dan Rivera was not only an Army veteran but also a loving father of four and a devoted husband. It’s particularly distressing to see comments attributing his passing to items such as the Annabelle doll.
He vigorously opposed the negative focus on local ghost tours and paranormal groups, arguing that Dan’s death was not of a suspicious or malicious nature.
Certain individuals are exploiting his death for financial gain, which is truly appalling,” he added. “Dan was a devoted family man and well-regarded in the field of paranormal investigation; his departure from this world came much too early. Instead, let’s concentrate on celebrating Dan for who he truly was.
Although Dan’s untimely death wasn’t ghost-related, many celebrities claim to have had encounters with spirits. Continue reading for further insights.
Courteney Cox shared a spine-tingling ghost story during an interview with Howard Stern. She narrated an incident where a delivery man informed her that her house was haunted after she answered the door for a package. The man claimed he could see a ghost standing behind Courteney, which startled her.
Courteney also shared another eerie experience she had in London. Upon arrival, she was experiencing jet lag and couldn’t sleep. As she sat down to rest, she started seeing scary faces and hallucinations. She tried to stop the visions by telling herself to wake up, but they continued.
In a panicked state, Courteney woke her long-time partner Johnny McDaid. “Johnny! Wake up! I’m seeing spirits!” she exclaimed. However, Johnny dismissed her claims and told her she was asleep. Despite his reassurance, Courteney insisted that she had indeed seen ghosts.
Later on, she requested the spirits to leave her alone for the night so she could sleep. To her relief, the visions stopped after that.
According to Demi Lovato, there have been several instances where they and their family members have experienced strange occurrences in their childhood home in Texas, leading them to believe that it may be haunted. On an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2013, Demi shared that when they were a child, they would talk to an unseen presence that identified itself as Emily, the girl in a picture frame. Similarly, their younger sister also claimed to have spoken with this entity when she was around the same age.
Demi also recalled inviting friends over and challenging them to witness something paranormal. Skeptical at first, Demi’s friends reported experiencing odd occurrences, such as a friend’s phone texting “I think this place is haunted” multiple times on its own.
To add more credibility to their claims, Demi shared an incident where their uncle saw a balloon floating down the stairs in the house. Balloons, of course, do not naturally float down staircases, and this particular one even turned a corner after descending.
In summary, Demi Lovato believes that their childhood home in Texas is haunted due to numerous strange occurrences they and their family members have experienced there.
During the filming of “The Conjuring”, Joey King, who played a character in the movie, experienced a chilling event similar to her on-screen character. The actress explained this on an episode of “The Howard Stern Show” in 2020. She mentioned that during scenes where her on-screen mother got possessed and had bruises, she started getting real ones in strange places like her stomach and chest.
At first, the makeup artists thought Joey was playing a prank by stealing their fake bruises. However, when they tried to remove them with rubbing alcohol and oil, she insisted that she wasn’t lying about having real bruises.
Joey then visited a doctor for blood tests and was diagnosed with ITP (Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura), a condition where her body mysteriously drained most of its red platelets. She had never had a blood problem before or since, and neither did anyone in her family.
As a result, Joey had to go to the hospital twice a day while filming “The Conjuring” in 2013. When she returned home, her platelet levels were back to normal, and she has never experienced this disorder again.
As a devoted fan, here’s how I would rephrase that in the first person:
I find myself continuing to breathe as I delve into Ariana Grande’s harrowing encounter with the supernatural. The esteemed Grammy winner shared her chilling account of a “ghost/demon experience” with Complex, which occurred in Kansas City back in 2013. After spending the night in what she believed to be a haunted castle, Ariana recalled, “the following night we decided to visit Stull Cemetery, known as one of the seven gates to hell on Earth.”
“An unsettling sensation of darkness washed over the entire car and we could smell sulfur, which is associated with demons,” she reminisced. “Additionally, there was a random fly in the vehicle, another sign of a demonic presence. I felt compelled to say, ‘This is frightening; let’s leave.’ Before departing, I rolled down the window and apologized for any disturbance we may have caused, saying, ‘We didn’t mean to disrupt your peace.’ Then, I snapped a picture, only to discover three distinct demonic faces in it—as if taken straight from a textbook.”
The “Thank U, Next” singer then revealed that she deleted the photo after attempting to send it to her manager, who responded with an ominous message: “This file can’t be sent, it’s 666 megabytes.” Ariana also recounted a previous instance where she witnessed a massive black cloud looming by her bedside.
“I broke into tears,” she continued to Complex. “I was frantically asking for advice on what to do, and they told me, ‘Tell it to go away.’ However, I hesitated, as I didn’t want to upset it. Instead, I chose to remain calm, not giving in to fear since it thrives on it. The black cloud moved towards the front of my bed, but I continued to chat on the phone and eventually fell asleep. Upon waking up, the cloud had vanished.
Octavia Spencer appears quite comfortable with the idea of a spirit residing in her home. In an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show from 2021, she shared that she believes this spirit acts as a protector, keeping unwelcome individuals at bay.
She explained that the house was previously owned by someone involved in Westerns, leading her to believe he is her guardian angel. When asked about how this ghost expels intruders, Octavia said, “If they stay at my place, they don’t want to come back.” This, she claims, indicates that these individuals don’t belong there.
However, the ghost can exhibit some shady behavior when Octavia is away for extended periods, such as closing doors and turning off lights. Despite this, she has made it clear that while she appreciates her ghostly companion, she doesn’t extend an invitation to anyone else’s spirits.
“I love my ghost,” she said. “But I don’t want you bringing your ghost to my house. I don’t want anybody’s ghost thinking they can be friends with my ghost. My ghost can haunt me, but he doesn’t haunt me. We have boundaries.
Jennifer Aniston didn’t have a friendly relationship with the ghost she claimed lived in her old Los Angeles house. Strange things happened there, such as the dishwasher or coffee maker turning on by themselves, or the stereo blasting music at full volume. It was very frightening for her. So, someone suggested she call a specialist to get rid of the spirit. Jennifer said that she had someone visit her house who used frankincense and started talking to the ghost. The first corner they went to, the dish cracked. Not only that, but a thick ashtray from 1975 also broke, causing the specialist to ask Jennifer to leave so she could communicate with the spirit. However, Jennifer didn’t share what the spirit said. She only mentioned that it seemed to dislike her roommate, whom she eventually moved out without telling. “I feel terrible,” Jennifer said, “but I couldn’t tell her, ‘It doesn’t like you.’ That would have been cruel.
As an ardent fan, let me share a chilling experience that Miley Cyrus once described – a ghostly presence that haunts her household. In a 2020 interview with JoJo Wright on 102.7KIISFM, she spoke about a spirit that she believes resides in her home.
Miley recounted having a friend whose parent had passed away. Upon their demise, this friend’s family gave Miley all of their Elvis Presley memorabilia. However, this collection was tragically lost when Miley’s Malibu house caught fire in 2018.
In one of her Los Angeles rooms, the Grammy winner had a photograph of her friend’s deceased mother. After the fire, she claimed that her friend’s late mom started visiting her L.A. home. It was as if the smoke from the Elvis memorabilia fire had acted as a conduit for this spirit.
Miley explained that it felt like the fire “released” her friend’s mother, prompting her to remove the photograph from her guest room. She claimed to have sensed the presence of smoke emanating from the guest room, where the photo was located. Her dogs also seemed to be affected, becoming agitated whenever she felt the ghostly presence.
In fact, just a few nights ago, Miley swore she saw her friend’s mother sitting on the couch, seemingly taunting her dogs. This sighting caused her dogs to go into a frenzy – something that her friend’s mother was known for doing in life.
Hurry on over to catch Keanu Reeves share his chilling ghost story.
The actor from “The Matrix” once shared an inexplicable encounter he had at his family’s New York apartment when he was around 6 or 7 years old. He recalled, during a 2014 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” that there was a doorway where suddenly something like a jacket waved through the doorway. It was empty – no head, no body, no legs, just floating and then disappearing.
Though Keanu wasn’t too alarmed by the incident, his nanny seemed quite startled. “I was just a kid, and I thought it was interesting,” he said. “Then I looked over at the nanny and she had an open jaw. I realized ‘Oh wow, that was real.’ And then I went, ‘Wow! Cool!’
Vanessa Hudgens, who gained fame from High School Musical, doesn’t seem to be running away from any supernatural experiences. Instead, she appears to embrace her unique ability to sense and perceive things beyond the ordinary. In an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2022, she admitted, “I’ve come to terms with the fact that I see and hear things.”
A specific memory that stands out for Vanessa is an incident involving a pull-along duck toy when she was eight years old. As she recalled, “There was one of those on the dining room table, and as I started walking, it began moving alongside me.”
Now, Vanessa is eager to learn more about her abilities. She shared with Kelly Clarkson that she had previously avoided exploring this side of herself due to fear, but recently decided to embrace it. “The unknown can be scary,” she admitted, “but I realized that this is a gift and something I have the ability to do. So, I’m going to lean into it.” In fact, she recently undertook her first real paranormal investigation equipped with specialized tools.
In 2016, Hugh Grant shared an intriguing tale about one of his sons. It seemed that this boy had a peculiar habit of fixing his gaze on a corner of his room.
As word spread, others began to notice a small figure in the same corner. Children would often ask, “Who’s the little boy over there?” Even family members and nannies were affected.
Feeling it was time for action, Hugh made an unusual call – to a ghostbuster. Upon arrival, the ghostbuster brandished some sticks. According to Hugh, these sticks became particularly active in his son’s room. The ghostbuster claimed, “It’s incredibly strong here. I might vomit.” Hugh suspected this was all a hoax.
After burning about seven pounds of sage and banging a drum or instrument, the ghostbuster declared, “The spirits are gone.” But was that really the case?
Hugh inquired from his son the next morning if he felt any better after the night’s events. His son reported, “There was a little boy at my window.” So it seems the house might still be haunted, as Hugh quipped, “I think we need to move now.
Years ago in Edinburgh, Brian Cox had an eerie experience that will send shivers down your spine. On a particular night, as he was trying to drift off to sleep, there was a strange rocking sound, and his chair began to move towards his bed, seemingly of its own accord. Despite the chair eventually stopping, Brian was left terrified by this unexpected event. Hiding under the covers, he exclaimed to himself, “This is absolutely terrifying!” The following morning, he found that the chair was still there, but the floor beneath it bore strange scratch marks.
