Emmerdale star teases Kev Townsend return after Robron’s romantic reunion and Lewis parentage reveal

Bradley Riches hinted that his Emmerdale colleague, Kev Townsend, will be back on the show soon after Chris Coghill’s character recently left.

Kev left dramatically last November after threatening Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle with a sword. Realizing Robert and Aaron were a solid couple, he knew he had no future in the village and decided to leave permanently.

Everything changed when John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) convinced him to return. Driven by a desperate desire to reunite with Aaron (Danny Miller), John attempted to enlist Kev’s help in killing Robert (Ryan Hawley), and then planned to end his own life.

The plan went terribly wrong when Kev unexpectedly warned Aaron, saving his life and finding a way to make amends. This forced him to leave the area permanently, but he briefly returned to see his son, Lewis, before going.

Kev was a memorable character on the ITV soap, and it’s possible he might return, as his exit wasn’t completely final.

I was chatting with Bradley at the Attitude 101 event, and he seemed really optimistic about seeing Kevin back in the show. Apparently, everyone loved the character! He thinks there’s this strange, unacknowledged connection between Lewis and Kevin, and honestly, I agree. It would be a missed opportunity not to explore that dynamic further – it’s just too interesting to ignore.

“The short answer is yes, we want Kev back. Bring Kev back!”

With Kev still away, Lewis finds a pleasant distraction in Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson). Some well-meaning family interference has helped Lewis and Vinny’s budding romance take a step forward.

I’m so excited! The actor from Heartstopper hinted at what’s next for their character’s sweet romance, and they promised some really groundbreaking stories are on the way. I can’t wait to see what happens!

He explained that their romantic relationship develops from their friendship, which is why they’re often unsure of where they stand. However, once they navigate those uncertainties, he believes they’ll be very happy together.

As someone who is neurodivergent and autistic, I’m fascinated by how relationships develop when traditional communication isn’t present. It offers a chance to observe dynamics and challenges that might not usually come up in everyday connections.

Honestly, everyone’s been rooting for Vinny and Lewis! After watching Robron go through so much drama for years, we’re all really excited about the possibility of a fresh, happy couple in the village. It’s just what we needed!

Bradley reassured fans that the popular couple ‘Robron’ won’t be affected by the new storyline. He explained that the new couple is unique and it’s great to see a younger character explore his sexuality and boundaries. He also highlighted the importance of representing relationships where one partner is neurodivergent, as it’s a different dynamic rarely seen on television.
