Next week on Coronation Street, Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) has had enough of being harassed by her stalker, Mal Roper (Tim Treloar), and tells him to leave Weatherfield.
This remark has serious consequences, as the speaker is later severely injured. Did Bernie cause this?
So, I just heard that Steve McDonald’s dad, Jim, is really unwell – like, seriously close to the end. It’s got Steve in a tough spot, wondering if he should even go and see him. It’s a classic soap storyline, honestly – family drama at its finest!
TopMob announced earlier this month that the character Jim will die, but the scene won’t be shown on screen. This comes over 35 years after Jim first appeared.
Maggie Driscoll continues to stir up trouble for Lauren Bolton, and George Shuttleworth finds himself in a difficult situation at work.
Here’s a rundown of what’s happening on Coronation Street from Monday, February 23rd to Friday, February 27th.
5 Coronation Street spoilers for next week
1. Bernie Winter-Alahan is arrested following an attack on Mal Roper

Dev and Asha are enjoying a father-daughter outing, while back at home, something unexpected is happening.
Roy quickly went to the bank, leaving Bernie alone with Mal. Bernie immediately opened up and started sharing his deepest feelings. However, Mal rejected his advances, and the atmosphere quickly turned hostile and threatening.
Bernie was shocked to discover her face had been carefully cut out of her wedding photo. She went to confront her husband, but he pretended he knew nothing about it.

When Tracy says Ken is looking for a good electrician, Roy immediately suggests Mal. Bernie interrupts to caution Tracy against using him, which confuses Tracy’s boss.
Bernie was on edge, startled by every little noise. When someone knocked, she grabbed a golf club for protection, only to find it was her son, Kit. She then confessed to a mistake she made the previous night with Mal, and explained how much trouble it had caused her since.
Mal angrily entered the café and began shouting at Bernie in front of everyone. Roy intervened and forced him to leave. Bernie, furious, warned Mal that she would kill him if he didn’t stop harassing her, but he just laughed and refused to leave.

The next day at the station, Lisa filled me in on a new case – a man found with a serious head injury. I took one look at the file and nearly lost my color, it was Mal! Just then, Bernie showed up, all packed and ready to go. I rushed to the hospital, and the doctors confirmed my worst fears – he was in critical condition.
DC Browning swiftly arrives with handcuffs and arrests Bernie on suspicion of assault.

2. Steve McDonald receives some sad news about dad Jim

Cassie notices Steve becoming close friends with Ben and playfully suggests Tim might be feeling left out. Their lighthearted conversation quickly turns serious when news arrives in Weatherfield: Jim’s landlord is demanding £1,800 in back rent, and Steve is unexpectedly responsible as Jim’s guarantor.
On top of everything else, Steve learns from a former colleague of his father’s that Jim is in the hospital and not likely to get better. Cassie encourages Steve to go see him, but Tracy points out all the trouble Jim caused in the past.
Ben volunteered to drive after his car battery died, throwing a wrench in his plans. At the hospital, Steve hesitated, realizing this visit might be his final opportunity to see his father, and he didn’t want to live with the regret of not coming.

Ben later gets free tickets to an event in Weathy County and invites Steve and Tim along. The three of them return to the Rovers pub excited about it. Meanwhile, Steve is unaware that Jim is trying to reach him by phone.
The next morning, Steve woke up with a hangover in the pub’s back room and decided he was finished searching for a father who had never been there. He realized he already had everything he needed with his partner and daughter, not knowing Cassie was planning a surprise for him.

3. Jodie Ramsey has yet another secret

Jodie gets a text from Carl and, following Shona’s suggestion, firmly tells him to leave her alone. Meanwhile, Debbie disregards Ronnie’s advice and sends Carl £2,000.
Ronnie angrily tells Ed that Carl is taking advantage of her financially. Meanwhile, Jodie dismisses a cold interaction with Carl, unaware that she’s being watched.
From afar, someone watches her, clutching a locket identical to hers. Who is it?

Later, I saw Toyah really give Jodie a piece of her mind about David the dog making a mess – honestly, it was a bit harsh! But Jodie barely had time to react because this girl, Olivia, showed up, and it instantly brought Jodie back to when she used to look after Olivia and her sister. It was sweet, seeing Jodie remember how much she enjoyed caring for them both.
Later, checking she’s alone, Jodie retrieves a hidden box, hinting at yet another secret.
Shona is frantic when she realizes her wedding ring is missing at No.8. David comes home to find Jodie searching behind the armchair, insisting she can sense where the ring is and needs his assistance. Jodie appears pleased with how close they’re becoming as David helps her look.
She enjoys causing problems and is trying to make David appear lazy, hoping to make Shona suspicious. At the café, Shona tells Bethany that she and David haven’t been spending much time together lately.
Has Jodie stolen her brother-in-law?
4. Maggie Driscoll continues to meddle in Ollie’s love life

Ollie happily asked Lauren to dinner at the bistro, and she was thrilled. She’s been feeling optimistic lately, and their dates have been going really well.
Maggie sharply reminds Lauren that she owes her current job to Maggie, leaving Lauren frustrated and unsure how to handle her overbearing grandmother.
5. George Shuttleworth is in legal trouble at the undertakers’

While at the funeral home, Christina playfully suggests George has a knack for convincing people to update their wills. She quickly realizes, however, that Mrs. Ripley, a prospective client, was listening.
Adam tells George that a dissatisfied customer, Annie, has hired him to challenge her mother’s will and recommends George find a lawyer.

George is thinking about refusing the £10,000 inheritance from Annie’s mother to avoid causing trouble, but Christina warns him it would seem like he’s hiding something. Then, Adam reveals another shock: Annie believes Christina and George are working together and intends to sue them both.
On top of everything else, Mrs. Ripley’s son, Damien, thanked George for taking care of his mother’s funeral. However, right after seeing him out, Annie rushed in to warn Damien that the funeral home wasn’t reliable.
Is something serious about to happen?

As a total soap obsessive, I follow Michael Adams’ work at TopMob religiously. He’s their Soaps Editor, meaning he’s the one in the know about everything happening in all the big shows – from the drama in Weatherfield (that’s Coronation Street!) to Walford (EastEnders), and everywhere else like Emmerdale and Hollyoaks. Before TopMob, he was a Soaps Reporter at Metro for a couple of years, and even got to work on set for both Corrie and Emmerdale, which is seriously impressive!
