For decades, Greg Cipes has been the voice of Beast Boy on Cartoon Network shows like Teen Titans, Teen Titans Go, and Young Justice. Many fans, and Cipes himself, were upset when Warner Bros. appeared to replace him in the role. Recently, Cipes shared details about a project on social media – a series of solo adventures starring Beast Boy – that unfortunately never aired in North America.
Many fans may not realize that Beast Boy starred in his own series, Beast Boy: Lone Wolf, which originally came out in the UK and Ireland in 2024. Despite being a spin-off of Teen Titans, it never aired on Cartoon Network in North America and wasn’t picked up for another season after its first ten episodes. Fortunately, all episodes were compiled into a single video on YouTube by Cartoon Network UK. Recently, Greg Cipes, who voiced Beast Boy, shared a trailer for the series and asked fans if they were interested in seeing the project he created before Warner Bros. let him go.

I’m still able to do voice work! I created this new series shortly before James Gunn and Warner Bros./DC let me go last Valentine’s Day, reportedly because I didn’t handle the challenges of my Parkinson’s symptoms with enough patience. #beastboy #parkinsons #HealingJourney #teentitansgo #lonewolf

Will Beast Boy Return?
Warner Bros. hasn’t officially confirmed if Greg Cipes has been let go from his role in Teen Titans and related shows, but the actor insists he’s no longer working with the studio. Last year, Cipes claimed Warner Bros. fired him shortly after he publicly announced his Parkinson’s diagnosis, stating it felt like a devastating loss that only fans could help him overcome.
Despite being in its ninth season, Teen Titans Go! has been renewed for a tenth! Fans are waiting to find out when season nine will finish and season ten will start, and whether Greg Cipes will reprise his role as Beast Boy after recent criticism, or if the character will be voiced by someone new. In addition to the new season, DC Studios has announced a Teen Titans Go! movie is also being made, but details about the film are currently unknown.
Last year, Greg Cipes spoke about being let go from Cartoon Network and expressed his concern that Warner Bros. was already looking for someone to imitate him. He believes they’re trying to copy his unique voice, delivery, and personality, but that it won’t feel genuine and fans will notice. Cipes feels he can still effectively play Beast Boy despite his Parkinson’s diagnosis, only needing a little extra time in the recording booth sometimes. He explained that the entire cast strongly protested the decision, arguing that his replacement would be a mere imitation and that their strong chemistry was a key part of what made the show so beloved. They believed their genuine connection as a cast was what made the team so relatable and popular with fans.
