Every Season of an Underrated 2010s Sitcom Is Now Streaming on Netflix for the First Time

If you enjoy sitcoms, you’ll definitely want to check out a fantastic show that recently became available on Netflix. Netflix already has a great selection of comedies, including shows like Big Mouth and Kim’s Convenience, and they just added all three seasons of a truly underrated 2010s sitcom that’s worth watching again (or for the first time!).

All 57 episodes of the ABC sitcom Suburgatory are now available to stream on Netflix, starting February 13th. The show, which originally ran from 2011 to 2014, hasn’t been easily accessible online for years. This is the first time it’s been offered on Netflix in the U.S. Created by Emily Kapnek, Suburgatory follows single dad George Altman (Jeremy Sisto) and his teenage daughter Tessa (Jane Levy) as they adjust to suburban life after moving from New York City.

ABC’s Suburgatory Was Unfairly Cancelled

As a huge TV fan, I have to say that Suburgatory is one of those shows that really sticks with you. I binged all three seasons and honestly, I was left wanting more! It’s a real shame ABC cancelled it in 2014 – the ratings dipped, but the show was just so good. It perfectly captured suburban life with a really clever and funny edge. Critics and audiences both loved it – it consistently scored high on Rotten Tomatoes, even hitting 100% with critics in its final season. It’s frustrating that all that praise wasn’t enough to save it, but if you do decide to watch Suburgatory, be warned: you’ll be upset when it ends because it was cancelled too soon.

Let me tell you, Suburgatory is a seriously underrated show – a real gem hiding in plain sight. What I loved most was its incredibly smart and funny take on suburban life. It skewers all those familiar tropes – the overly-involved neighbors, the ridiculously competitive moms – but it does it through the eyes of someone who doesn’t quite fit in, which makes it even funnier. But it’s not just funny. The heart of the show is the surprisingly sweet and realistic relationship between George and his daughter, Tessa. They have this mature, almost adult connection that really grounds everything. And the cast? Fantastic. From Jeremy Sisto and Allie Levy to seasoned pros like Cheryl Hines and Alan Tudyk, everyone delivers a memorable performance. Seriously, check this one out!

What’s New on Netflix?

February offers a lot of new content for TV and movie fans. Besides films like the live-action How to Train Your Dragon and The Black Phone, there are plenty of exciting TV shows to watch, including the latest seasons of Heartland and The Way Home. Netflix has also added complete series of shows like the Night Court reboot, Search Party, the classic sitcom What I Like About You, and the short animated series Samuel.
