Walton Goggins, known for his role in Fallout, will now star in the upcoming action thriller Mister, taking over for Josh Brolin. The film, produced by the teams behind Bright White Light and John Wick (Thunder Road), is described as a fast-paced mix of Jason Bourne, John Wick, and even a touch of Scott Pilgrim. Brolin had initially signed on in September but had to leave the project due to conflicts with his filming schedule.
The upcoming film features Giancarlo Esposito as a man who mysteriously wakes up covered in blood, with no memory of his identity or the events leading up to it. He finds himself battling his former romantic partners, and his only chance at survival lies in reconnecting with his daughter, played by Chloë Grace Moretz. However, there’s a surprising catch: his daughter is also a trained assassin, continuing the family legacy. The film, titled Mister, is described as:
Mister tells the story of a man (Goggins) who finds himself waking up in a bloody, unfamiliar house with no memory of who he is. As he pieces together his past, he’s hunted by assassins – people he used to know, including former lovers and even his closest friend. To escape, he reluctantly joins forces with his daughter (Moretz), who is also caught up in this dangerous world, but they must mend their broken relationship if they hope to survive.
Wade Eastwood, known for his stunt work on major films like the Mission: Impossible series and Jumanji: The Next Level, is making his directorial debut with a movie called Mister. Filming is set to begin next month in Madrid, and while the cast isn’t fully confirmed yet, Eastwood has been vocal about his excitement regarding the two lead actors.
Right away, I could tell Walton would bring a unique and exciting energy to the project – he’s truly captivating. Chloë is fantastic, bringing both power and sensitivity, along with impeccable comedic timing. Together, they’ve made Mister everything we hoped for: daring, hilarious, and completely energetic.
