Meaghan Oppenheimer is telling truths, and you may not want to hear what she has to say.
The creator of the Hulu series Tell Me Lies announced shortly before the final episode aired on February 17th that the show would end with season three.
The show Tell Me Lies will conclude tonight after three seasons, according to a February 16th Instagram post from one of its creators. The post, which included a photo with stars Grace Van Patten and Jackson White, explained that this ending was always the plan for the writing team, and they are very proud of how the series wraps up.
We were thrilled with how much you enjoyed this season, and we considered ways to keep the story going naturally. However, we ultimately decided it was the right time to end it. My priority has always been to maintain the show’s quality and give you the best possible experience.
Even though the popular show has finished, Meaghan isn’t stopping her storytelling. She’ll continue to create dramatic and engaging stories.
Leaving the show is definitely hard, but I’m so thankful we were able to finish our story the way we wanted – not all shows get that chance. Thank you all for watching and enjoying it with us, and we hope to share new stories with you soon.
The show, centered around the rocky relationship between Lucy and Stephen and their messy group of friends, had a pretty complex ending. There’s a lot to consider when thinking about how it all wrapped up.

Following their split and a brief encounter fueled by sympathy, Pippa (Sonia Mena) revealed to Wrigley (Spencer House) that she had been unfaithful. She admitted to cheating with another woman but didn’t mention it was Diana (Alicia Crowder), who used to date Stephen.
Okay, so after Pippa finally told Wrigley how she felt, it was so sweet! Especially considering he’d secretly kissed Bree (Catherine Missal) before! He just hugged her and let her know he wasn’t upset at all. It was a really nice moment, honestly.
During the finale, Lucy also revealed some surprising information, telling Pippa that Evan (Branden Cook) had cheated on Bree with her a year earlier. Pippa was understandably upset by this news.
Lucy tried to publicly embarrass Stephen at a Yale luncheon, hoping to get revenge for something that had happened about three years earlier.
Things get much harder for Lucy when the video Stephen made of her film – where she admits to falsely claiming sexual assault – becomes public. Lucy immediately assumes Stephen leaked it because of something she did, but the truth is more complicated.

Following Lucy’s expulsion from Baird and Stephen’s lost Yale opportunity – both consequences of him sending inappropriate images (specifically, the photos he emailed to Diana’s father) – the story jumps ahead to 2015, where Evan and Bree are getting married. During this time, we learn Stephen is engaged to Lucy’s former best friend, Lydia (played by Natalee Linez), but the engagement quickly falls apart. Stephen confessed to cheating on Lydia with Lucy on their wedding day, revealing he’d only been with Lydia to provoke Lucy. True to form, Stephen ended things with Lydia callously.
At Bree’s wedding, Stephen publicly confronted her about their shared history. He then shocked everyone by revealing a series of secrets: Lucy and Evan had an affair, Bree exposed Lucy by sharing a video of her confession, Stephen slept with Lucy on the day of the wedding, and Bree has been secretly having a relationship with Wrigley for months.
I couldn’t believe what happened at the event! Pippa and Diana, who are together now, quietly left, but everyone else really went at it. The biggest shock, though, was Lucy! Stephen asked her to go home with him, and even after telling him she hated him, she actually said yes! It was totally unexpected.
After they were spotted driving away, Stephen unexpectedly left Lucy at a truck stop, and she simply laughed, looking up at the sky.
Now that Tell Me Lies has finished, get ready for more exciting new TV shows! Keep reading to find out when they’ll premiere in 2026.
