Cartoon Network Creator Celebrates Series Return

Good news for fans of classic Cartoon Network shows! Next month, Tubi will be adding a bunch of beloved animated series from Warner Bros., including titles like Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, and The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. To mark the occasion, a Cartoon Network animator has even created something special for fans as these shows return.

Fans will be excited to hear that all six seasons of the beloved Cartoon Network series Codename: Kids Next Door are coming to Tubi on March 1st, alongside other classic CN shows. While a new series isn’t confirmed, this is a great way for both longtime and new viewers to enjoy the adventures of this group of kid spies. To mark the occasion, series creator Mr. Warburton shared new artwork and announced, “KND is coming to Tubi on March 1st, along with a lot of your favorite Cartoon Network shows! Let’s bring it all back!”

Tubi Next Door

I’m a huge fan of Codename: Kids Next Door, and it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster seeing where it’s available! It first aired on Cartoon Network from 2002 to 2008, and I was so happy when it landed on HBO Max. Sadly, when Max started removing a lot of their classic Cartoon Network originals, Codename: Kids Next Door was one of the shows that got pulled. Thankfully, Tubi stepped in about two years ago and saved the day, giving us all a free way to rewatch this awesome series!

Although a continuation of the Cartoon Network show hasn’t been officially announced, creator Tom Warburton has a concept for a possible sequel. He’s previously mentioned wanting to take the characters into space, even developing story ideas for a series he called “Galactic Kids Next Door.” He submitted a script to Warner Bros. as a potential pitch, but the studio hasn’t decided whether to revive Codename: Kids Next Door yet.

It’s logical that Tubi is seeking to expand its collection of Warner Bros. animated series. They’ve already had great success with Looney Tunes, which moved to Tubi from HBO Max and has become a popular offering. By adding more Bugs Bunny and other Looney Tunes characters, Tubi and Warner Bros. appear to have formed a successful streaming partnership.
