House of the Dragon season 3 trailer reveals brutal warfare and teases further tragedy for Rhaenyra Targaryen

Fans are getting even more excited for season 3 of House of the Dragon! A thrilling new trailer just dropped, giving a sneak peek at the upcoming season, which will premiere this June.

We’ve gotten our first look at Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, and Olivia Cooke reprising their roles as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Daemon Targaryen, and Alicent Hightower, and it appears the upcoming season will be filled with even more violence and suffering for the Targaryen family.

The latest scenes depict Rhaenyra anticipating Alicent will give up, while her son Jacaerys cautions that Alicent can’t be relied upon.

We’re finally going to see the large-scale battle that was originally planned for season two, but moved to season three. This ‘Dance of Dragons’ will bring even more devastation to the story.

The last scene features Daemon telling Rhaenyra she’s now queen. However, as she looks up, tears running down her face, it’s obvious this new role comes with a heavy price.

This season, Rhaenyra will be even more troubled and haunted by her past. She’s deeply affected by all she’s lost, both personally and as a result of the devastating war, the Dance of Dragons.

Some viewers thought season 2 moved a bit slowly, but season 3 promises a much faster pace, according to showrunner Ryan Condal, who has hinted at a very dramatic season.

He explained that season 2 focused on the initial, uneven stages of warfare in the early medieval period, but season 3 will clearly depict full-scale, all-out war.

Season 3 will introduce several new characters, including James Norton as Lord Ormund Hightower. We’ll also be meeting Daeron Targaryen, who is Aegon and Aemond’s brother.

Although we’ve been waiting a while for season 3 of House of the Dragon, there’s been plenty of Game of Thrones-related news to keep fans happy lately.

The new series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, has been a hit with fans and viewers are eagerly anticipating the final episode.

In other news, the world of Westeros is heading to the stage! The Royal Shakespeare Company will premiere a prequel play this summer.

The upcoming series, Game of Thrones: The Mad King, will take place a decade before the original show and feature a brand new story. Author George R.R. Martin is involved as an executive producer and has provided original material for the series.

So, you might want to prepare yourselves – Westeros awaits!

I’m so excited for season 3 of House of the Dragon! It’s coming to HBO Max in June. If you need to catch up, the first two seasons are currently streaming on Sky and NOW – you can find all the details on how to subscribe on their website.
