The Toys are back!

It’s hard not to love the Toy Story movies, and now we’re getting a sneak peek at the next chapter with the release of the first trailer for Toy Story 5.

What’s Toy Story 5 about?

The latest sneak peek introduces Lilypad, a smart tablet shaped like a frog and voiced by Greta Lee (known from “TRON: Ares”). Lilypad complicates things for Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the toys as they face a brand new challenge to playtime.

Who provide the voices this time around?

Tom Hanks reprises his role as Woody, the steadfast cowboy, and Tim Allen is back as Buzz Lightyear. Joan Cusack returns as the energetic cowgirl Jessie, and Tony Hale voices Forky once again. Joining the cast is Conan O’Brien, who will voice Smarty Pants, a tech toy designed to help with potty training.

Directors Andrew Stanton and Kenna Harris shared their excitement about the new film, explaining that it’s been a funny and touching experience to see how the beloved toys deal with modern technology. They were especially pleased with Greta Lee’s performance as Lilypad, praising her ability to bring both playful sass and genuine emotion to the character.

The next Toy Story movie will be directed by Andrew Stanton, who previously won an Academy Award for films like WALL•E, Finding Nemo, and Finding Dory. Kenna Harris (Ciao Alberto) will co-direct, and Lindsey Collins, a producer known for Turning Red, WALL•E, and Finding Dory, will produce.

Toy Story 5 will be released in cinemas nationwide on 19th June 2026.
