More and more games are becoming available only digitally, and rely on online servers to function, which raises concerns about keeping older games playable in the future. While some classic games still exist as physical copies, they can be difficult to play on today’s computers. GOG (Good Old Games) helps by offering classic PC games without restrictive DRM. Their Preservation Program goes even further, actively updating older games to work on modern systems. Recently, they’ve added 10 more games to this program, ensuring they remain accessible to PC gamers.
GOG launched its Preservation Program in 2025 to celebrate its 16th anniversary. This program builds on GOG’s commitment to keeping classic games playable by highlighting titles they’ve updated and thoroughly tested for modern computers. Recently, 10 more games joined the program, bringing the total to over 100 officially supported classics. Among the new additions is the popular 2013 adventure game The Wolf Among Us, as well as several other titles from the 1990s and later.
