We’ve seen a lot of different ways to play Bungie’s Marathon, including teams of two using Rooks in PvE and impressive clips of players taking down enemies with various class abilities. But what does a really good playthrough of the Tau Ceti IV level look like? Bungie has now shared an 18-minute gameplay video showing the Destroyer, Thief, and Assassin classes in action on the Perimeter map.
The gameplay footage features exciting moments like a Thief character quickly moving across rooftops, eliminating opponents with a shotgun and then finishing another off. We also see a challenging 2v3 fight that demonstrates how powerful the BR33 Volley Rifle is. Once players begin the extraction process, they need to defend a specific location from waves of enemies.
That’s where the Thief drone is really useful. It can scout the area, identify enemies, and even steal items from them. Once you’ve successfully extracted, you can watch other players or check your stats – including eliminations (with a separate count for enemy Runners), revives performed, and the total value of your inventory.
The Progress screen shows your Runner Level and how well you’re known by the game’s six factions – typical for a game about completing missions and collecting loot. A really useful feature is the ability to automatically store, upgrade, and sell gear after each run. This is something the game ARC Raiders could definitely learn from.
The new Marathon game comes out next week! But you can try it out early during the Server Slam, a special preview event happening February 26th to March 2nd on all gaming platforms. Find out more about what to expect here.
