The recent shutdown of Bluepoint Games surprised many people in the gaming world, and for good reason. While Sony is working to find new positions within PlayStation Studios for the approximately 70 employees who lost their jobs, other game companies are also offering support. CI Games, the publisher of Lords of the Fallen, is among those reaching out to the former Bluepoint team.
I saw our CEO, Marek Tyminski, tweet about how amazing the Demon’s Souls remake was. He basically put out an open invitation to the team behind it – we’d love to chat with them about potential opportunities on Lords of the Fallen 2 and future projects. We’re hiring for a bunch of roles, some of which aren’t even posted on our website yet!
If you’re interested in this opportunity, or know someone who might be, please contact us today. We’re eager to learn about your skills and discuss how you could contribute to our future.
Tyminski’s statement is significant not only because it shows support for players, but also due to the phrase “and beyond.” This could hint at future content like downloadable content or continued support after the game’s release. Following its launch, Lords of the Fallen (2023) received many updates that introduced new game modes, features, difficulty settings, and major improvements to the combat system.
The developers at Bluepoint Games are known for making games run incredibly smoothly and look fantastic – the recent Demon’s Souls remake is a prime example. Considering the performance issues that plagued the initial release of Lords of the Fallen, having Bluepoint’s optimization skills could be a big benefit in ensuring the sequel runs well from the start.
The highly anticipated game, Lords of the Fallen 2, will be released later this year on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Recent updates showcase enhancements to character animations, the game world, and the dual-wielding combat system – you can find all the details here.
As a huge fan of the Demon’s Souls remake, I was so impressed by the work Bluepoint Games did! I heard that Clouded Entertainment Group (CIG) is reaching out to anyone at Bluepoint who might be interested in joining their team. They’re looking for talented developers to work on Lords of the Fallen II and future projects, and you can get in touch with them at careers@cigames.com. It would be amazing to see the team behind Demon’s Souls contribute to something new!
