Many new MMORPGs launch on Steam, as it’s a hugely popular platform for PC gamers to buy, play, and share their opinions about games. However, some big, established online games like World of Warcraft and Minecraft aren’t available there. Soon, Steam users who enjoy MMORPGs will have another long-running, well-established game to try.
Originally released in 2018 for iOS and Android, MapleStory M is a mobile game based on the popular PC MMORPG, MapleStory. It offers many of the same features fans enjoy in the original game, but designed for mobile devices. With over 75 million registered players worldwide, MapleStory M is expanding its reach by launching on Steam on March 18th. Before the full launch, players can try out a new demo to get a head start.
Maple Story M Reveals Steam Release Date & Next Fest Demo

The classic MapleStory has been popular on Steam for a while now, and continues to receive updates and events. However, MapleStory M was previously only playable on computers through a separate program. MapleStory M is a streamlined version of the original game, featuring updated graphics and conveniences like auto-battle, making it more accessible and easier to play. While many enjoy it on mobile devices, some prefer to play this type of game on a computer, and that’s why MapleStory M is now available on Steam.
Okay, so even if you’ve never played MapleStory before, MapleStory M really pulls at those nostalgic heartstrings. It’s got that classic pixel art style and feels like an old-school MMORPG, which I love. But the best part? It’s way less of a time commitment than the original. The grind isn’t nearly as intense, so it’s super easy to jump in and play whenever I have a few minutes. If you enjoy games that combine exciting platforming with simple, effective combat, you can add Maple Story M to your Steam wishlist now. Even better, a demo is available now as part of Steam Next Fest, and you can try it out! The demo will be playable until the game officially launches on March 18th, and any progress you make in the demo will transfer over to the full game.
Similar to other upcoming Steam games, MapleStory M is running a wishlist campaign. As the game reaches new wishlist goals, players will unlock rewards like extra character slots, bigger inventories, and various in-game items. Nexon is also giving away in-game currency to players who add the game to their Steam wishlist.
Similar to the original MapleStory, MapleStory M is a free game with optional items you can buy within the game. It comes to PC through Steam on March 18th, and you can try out a demo version starting today, February 23rd.
